Hello,

I am researching Irene Axford, nee Phillips.

I believe she was born Ethel Marjorie I Irene Phillips in Little Cheverell, Wiltshire, in 1908.

She married a man called Axford...

She died in Warminster, Wiltshire, in 1987.

I have found her gravestone in St Peter's, Little Cheverell, buried with her Mother and Father, my Great Grandfather and great Grandmother. So I guess she was my Great Aunt. Yes?

I am hoping she had offspring... ie. I have some cousins!

There is another gravestone in another church in great Cheverell.

James Axford, d.15 October 1954. Aged 72.
(His wife) Annie, d. 5th Feb 1963. aged 80.
with their daughter -
Lucy Ann Reed d.28 March 2000. Aged 88.

Are any of these Axfords related to any of you?

No, I'm sorry I don't know any Axfords, but I am tracing the 'Clelfords'. My maiden name was Calford and was derived from Clelford, it changed in about 1845 - 1850. I have so far traced back to James(my gtx3 grandfather) and Charlotte Clelford, shoemaker and wife. Not quite sure where or if your branch of Clelfords fit in with mine!!
