Actually, I'm a black Armand of Haitian descent. Although I know very little of my father. I believe his name was Jean-Francois and was probably born in Port-au-Prince. I'd like to know who my French ancestor was who came to the island in the first place and why...was he a sailor? businessman/plantion owner? Funny, how no one responded to your question, Cheryl. Wonder why?
