Anything new?

Hi all, I am just wondering if anything new has been uncovered concerning the 3 Andry brothers, such as any sure-fire descendants from Gilbert and Simon or the parents of Gilbert, Louis and Simon?

I noticed that there hasn't been much action on this board lately so I thought I'd see if anyone is still checking in.

I can tell you who the descendants of Louis Andry were. He had Clarice, G. Sosthene, Eugene, Manuel, Celeste, Rosalie and Seraphine.

Fortunately, I do have the same info that you shared. According to the "tree" I have been given by another Louis Antoine descendant, my line descends from Louis to Manuel to Michel to Claude "Victor" to Hilaire Albert to Charles Marcel to Charles Marcel, Jr., to Steven Albert. The signature on this tree is by Jeanne Marie Andry, dated '92. I have referred to this tree many times. There are Andrys in Southern MS/AL also that may be descended from Simon, Louis' brother, if I remember correctly. However, that connection hasn't been well established. Thanks for checking in with the info you have.

Actually, I have the same information you have except that I have Marie Charlotte Eugenia - no Eugene - born 2 April, 1774, died 28 October, 1802. Married 1 February, 1796 to Jean Joseph Blache. I am descended from Louis, then Gilbert Sosthene, then Michel, then Michel Jr., then Edgar, Joseph, Alfred, and finally my mother Jane.

Your note mentions Hilaire Albert. During the Vietnam War,
I was a pen pal to several young men serving over there.
I was 16 when I received the horrible news that Hilaire
Andry had been killed in action at age 20. Social Security
Death Index shows Hilaire Albert Andry Sr. died 1988 age 66.
Is this the same family you mentioned? I just posted a remembrance for Hilaire Jr.after looking for him on Louisiana
Vietnam Casualties.

To be honest, I don't have documentation to show that it's the same family. But, I would guess that these men are the same as the ones shown in the information I've been given. I'd seen the Vietnam list as well and figured that it's "my" Hilaire there. That's cool that you were a penpal with Hilaire, Jr.

I have wondered why my dad didn't know more of his Andry cousins but, for some reason, his dad just didn't hang out with his Andry family much. My dad left NOLA when I was in elementary school and his parents lived there until their deaths, so you'd think they would have known more of their family.

Thanks for sharing!
Lisa
