I live with your brother. His mother changed his surname years ago. I've done some recon work about his father, and he is unaware of it. As far as I can tell, he's not interested in his father at all. He'd be furious if he knew that I was snooping, and even more furious if he knew that I responded to your note.
He's a good, kind man. I don't know why your father left, and I'm sure there were valid reasons, but Brian had a very difficult upbringing. It seems that your family is extremely comfortable financially, and it breaks my heart that he had such hardship, more than you can imagine, as a child.
You have his birthdate wrong. And the spelling of his name.
I don't know what to tell you. He has a kind heart. I understand your father left before he was born, and saw him once when he was year or so. It's a shame, really a shame.
