Ovide

Sherill, the Ovide on this tree has a brother, Claude Victor, born 1822, the 9th of 11 children. According to the tree, Ovide was the first born child of his parents and he died single. I wonder if your Ovide is related to the other Andrys on the list of Spanish Descent?

My husband is a direct decendant of Don Louis Antoine Andry, brother of Simon and Gilbert. We did not know that they had been in Acadia. Sorry to say that we don't have any information prior to the three brothers and have not been able to find anything.

I have Simon as being the eldest brother who was said to be the Viceroy of Mexico. Don Louis Antoine was the second, b 1727 and married Marie Juana LaPierre. Gilbert was appointed as ordinary alcalde of New Orleans in 1797.

I would be happy to share the information I have on the decendants of Don Louis Antoine. Contact me.

Is your Ovide Andry the son of Michel Andry who was married to Sophia deGlaxion in 1803 or Felicite Aimee Durel? I have an Ovide listed in the family information, but the notation is that he died with no children.

trying to confirm info a have on my husband's family. His line of descent comes from Roas Claire Andry, born 21 Jan, 1767 and married Juan Bautiste Durel, III, on March 31, 1785. From my search of New Orleans Bapt. records, my findings have been that all 9 of Don Louis Andry's children were bapt in New Orleans. I have Maria Rosalie, born 8, Nov 1757, married 1. DeVillabasco; 2. Martin Paloa; Manual Bernard Noel, born 25 Dec 1758 married Maria Marguerite; Madeline Celeste, born 13 Apr 1760, married Miguel Cantrelle; Jean Constantin Silve, born Jan 24, 1762; Gilbert Sosthene, born 5 Nove 1763; Louise Constance, born 3 Aug 1765; Rosa Claire, born 21 Jan 1767, married Juan Bautiste Durel 31 March 1785, died 15 Feb 1842; Maria Charlotte Eugenie, 2 Apr 1774, married Juan Jose Blanche; Maria Luisa Serraphina, born 17 Nov 1777. My records show that Louis Andry died on a boat in the Bay of San Bernardo, Texas in 1778 or 1779.
Do you have any info on his parents or the parents of his wife Mara Juana LaPierre. She was born August 22, 1732 in New Orleans and died circa 1818 in New Orleans. Her parents were, I believe, Jean Baptiste LaPierre and her mothers name was not legible on the records.

Hi Pam,
Received your message but sorry to say that I have no other information on Marie Lapierre. Contact Ron Shawhan at RTShawhan@aol.com. He can send you a very nice narration he has compiled about the Andry Family of Louisiana. I sent him the information that I had collected and he has incorporated it into his. Like you, the Andry family is part of my husband's heritage also. I wonder if they could be related in other ways, what are some of the other names you are searching for?

Welcome to the search! Looks like there are quite a few decendants of Don Louis looking for information. A good source to contact would be Ron Shawhan at RTShawhan@aol.com. He has a posting on this message board. Ron and I have been looking for information on the parents of the three brothers. Would you happen to have any information on his wife Jeanne Lapierre's parents?

Contact me at msarrat@hom.net.
