Seeking Martha Gudelia, who married Alvin Purcell Beech, then became widowed in 1986, then married Agustin Torres Alvarez, Jr.,of Lancaster, CA, then became widowed in 1993. Martha needs to contact me immediately as she is the likely recipient of $275,000 awaiting her filing of a claim in relation to Mr. Beech's death by lung cancer, due to his work in the South Pacific 50 years ago in the atomic weapons test area. Hi Miguel, The Alvarezes and Perezes of Kabankalan share a common ancestor, Manuel Perez y Fernandez from Vigo, Spain. He was a spanish soldier stationed in Ilog town,married Tomasa and were parents of Ysidro, Pilar, and 5 other Perez siblings.Pilar married Rafael Alvarez. I don't know if he was also from Vigo. Their son Manuel married Amparo Penaflorida. Manuel and Amparo were parents of your dad, the 3rd Manuel in the family. You dad married Lourdes Montenegro (so far right?} then there were you and your sisters.Now where do I belong, a Perez? My dad's father was Ysidro, older brother of your lola Pilar.My dad and your Lolo Manoling were first cousins therefore your dad and I are second cousins. I'm related to the Alvarez Family from my mothers side Delfina Alvarez Born in Houston, Tx. Her father (my grandpa) is Hector Aleman Alvarez son of Juan F Alvarez and Herminia Aleman. They married and resided in Mathis,Tx, outside of Chorpus Christi, Texas. My great grandpa's mother names was Delfina Fanco. She had several children named Oscar F Alvarez, Raul F Alvarez,(has deceased) and Daniel F Alvarez who still lives in Mathis, Texas. There maybe others siblings, I'm not sure. But my grandpa Hector, would like to know if this information sounds familiar to any other possible relatives. Hope to here from you..

My Great-Grandfather, Felix Alvarez, entered the US around Presidio, TX in the 1920's I believe. He was born in 1914 but I'm not sure where. He's still with us but doesn't like to talk about where he came from.

It is my understanding that he still has family in the Presidio area. My mother remembers visiting there when she was about 5 years old.

There is a death record for Frances Barbee buried 12 Sep 1830. He was four years old. This is from the Register of Deaths, Savannah, GA, 1818-1832. This looks more like the Francis Barbi born 3 Sep 1826 than a birth record for Joseph A. Barbee. I think we need to look further for Joseph A.

Hilda worked for many yrs in that doctors office. Then she gave it up to join the Peace Corps. She enjoyed that experiance and is now retired. I am sure she sends her best to an old friend.

Last I saw her she was working in a dental office in downtown Tampa on Franklin St. She was related to Enrique Alvarez b. 1876 in Spain. She attended George Washington Middle School with me. Joseph A. Barbee may be one of the children of Francisco Barbee (originally spelled Barbe)of Fernandina Beach and Magdalena Hernandez Barbee of St. Augustine. Records from the Cathedral of St. John the Baptist in Savannah, Ga. show the marriage of Francisco and Magdelena on May 5, 1818. Baptismal records of St. Johns show 4 children: 1. Francis Barbi, born 3 Sep 1826 (I think this is actually Joseph A. Barbee from subsequent census records). 2. Louisa Jane Barbee, baptized 19 Aug 1828. 3. Alexander John Barbier, born 2 Jun 1831 (my ancestor). 4. Francis Gregorio Barbee, born 12 Mar 1835 and died several months later.

I also have a record from the Georgia Historical Society, "Marriages of Chatham County, Georgia Volume I 1747 - 1852" showing: "BARBEE, Joseph A., m. Miss Mary Margaret MANUCEY; 13 Feb 1841/14 Feb 1841; J. F. O'Neill R.C.P."

So, there are some assumptions here and more work probably needs to be done.
