Hello,
Jacob & Susanna Alsip would be my great great great grandparents. I have been on ancestry.com working on our family tree & let me tell you, it has been interesting. I had to get my mom & dad involved & then my grandparents which are Alsip's. My grandpa ( Max Alsip ) is Ray Thomas Alsip's son & Ray Thomas Alsip is Josephus Alsip's son which then leads to Jacob Alsip ( I attached the pix I posted on my family tree). I have posted a few pictures on here & have many more to post. I am sure my grandpa would enjoy visiting with you about the Alsip family. I have not got to look @ your family tree yet but I am guessing you must be related some how. I hope we can help each other. Thanks & I look forward to hearing from you,

I also have an Oscar, son of Samuel Alsip in my line. Samuel was the brother of my gggrandfather, Frank Alsip or the Alsip Brick Company in Illinois, etc. This Samuel was born 27 Sep 1831. This Samuel was married to Margaret Sheffield, and they divorced. I don't know what happened to him afterwards, nor anything about 2nd family.

My line goes Me>my mother>gRuth Elizabeth Alsip>ggFrank B. Alsip>gggFrancis/Frank Alsip>ggggWilliam Alsip>gggggFrancis Alsip.

gggggFrancis and family immigrated from Ireland in 1816 to Pennsylvania. I would appreciate exchanging family information. I do not think they were Irish.

ALSIP, EDWARD K., was born in the State of Indiana, in the year 1844, and remained there till 1855, when his parents came to Sacramento; in 1865 Mr. Alsip was clerk in a real estate office, and continued in that capacity till 1870, when he entered into partnership with A. C. Sweetser in the real estate business. Mr. Alsip married Mary A. Brown, of Illinois, in 1868; they have three children, all girls. Mr. Alsip has been a Director of the Pacific Mutual Life Insurance Company, and Secretary of the Union, and of the Occidental Loan Associations. Post Office Sacramento.

I was looking at Death records of KY 1911-2000 on the Alsup Connection web site and came across Bertha Alsip d. 9/7/1990 in Whitley Co. KY. They have her listed as daughter of Alexander Spenser Alsip and Mary Clark. They have her age listed as 72. We have her birth date as Feb. 1927 which would have made her 63. Does anyone know anything about her? We have been looking for her for years and was told she had been missing since age 8. I would like to find out if this is the same person.

William George Alsip, Jr. was married to Clara Pate. His father was married to Clara's aunts, (1) Margaret, and (2) Mary LeRotha. Thomas McCauberry Alsip and Almira Cupps were Junior's grandparents.

I know this post is very old but Icie Jones was my aunt. Her brother Ancil Alsip was my father. My father Ancil was married to Eloise (Bobbi) Rexroat.

Both my parents have passed on and I really don't have any information about their relatives other than my aunts and uncles. I am just starting this and have no idea where to begin. I would really apprecite it if anyone could share information with me. Thanks in advance.

I noticed it has been a few years since this was posted hopefully you have found some more info. But just in case...from my research, i believe that I am also a decendent of Jacob and Susanna Alsip, their son, Josephus Alsip(b. 1842) married Anna Marie Poffenberger, their daughter, Susan Alice Alsip married Frank Lenhart (my 2nd great grandfather)
I just began work on compiling a family tree. I don't have much yet, but I will share what I have. I am hoping you might be able to enlighten me also :)

Pearl Ellen Dowell Archer Alumbaugh: I have that she died Apr 05, 1979, buried in Calcutta Cemetery. But I don't know where I got the information. Sorry. Don't know about any offspring or Mr. Alumbaugh's first name.

I am looking for decendants of Franklin Alsip who was married to Anna Robinson. Any information on these two and the families..please contact...I do have some information...but in need of more...want to find the descendants. My great grandfather was Edwin Alsip who married Clara Virginia Kelly. My grandmother is Wanda Alsip McPherson. I am the gggg(that is the 4th) granddaughter to Joseph Alsip who, from what I received from Henry Connor(An expert on the Alisp family) was Jacob's brother. That is what I have concerning that area. That they were brothers, abet not close in ages and all. Another source, which I can't remember at the moment, says that they could have been father and son..but i am not sure, so I will stick with brothers.

So please do send the information that you have! When I realized that I was also connected to that side through Joseph, I was thrilled...I wasn't sure I was until I started looking into what info I had received from Henry Connor. So totally cool! I found another relative! :-)

Anyway, please send what you have....and I will see if I can send you my info on Joseph's side. I have it on family tree maker and I will see if I can send it to you. I am new at sending through email....

So take care and can't wait for the info!

Seeking documentation to prove the parentage of David Alsip. I believe David to be the son of James Alsip and Ann Stewart but I need a reliable source of documentation to prove that connection.

My David Alsip first married Rachel Richardson, about 1837 probably in Pulaski County, Kentucky. After Rachel’s death, he next married Elizabeth Hall on December 25, 1848 in Greene County, Missouri. When Elizabeth died, he married Catherine/Katherine Rogers on August 29, 1857 in Hancock County, Kentucky.

I just found this site and noticed from some of the replies that many of you are looking for Alsips in Corbin. I've posted on other sites and recieved some info. My grandmother was Ollie Alsip, her parents were John "Pappy" Alsip (died 1952) and Martha McFarland/McFarlin? (1945). I believe he was the son of Jefferson Alsip. My grandmother married a J. C. I am Jacquie Alsip and My father is James J. Alsip and his father was William Alsip. My father lives in Kentucky and most if his family does as well, I have a cousin named Jon Alsip who is in South Carolina.

I have been doing some research trying tofind information on Alsips myself. And I am not having much luck, don't really know where to start. My cousin Joi Alsip-Thomas has done a lot of research on the Alsip family.

I can tell you that there are many spellings of the name originating i believe with Allsopp from england. (allsopp, alsop, alsup, alsop and alsip). Just a few.
