Hello, I'm trying to get in touch with C. Victor
Evins who left the following message on the Loudoun mailing list 15 Sept 2000. His email address is no longer valid.
"I spent the last three days in
Chester Co., Pa. searching for the origins of a John
Evans and his family who appeared in
Loudoun County,
Virginia in 1763. They lived on Sugarland Run near
Herndon. If anyone is interested I did have some success and would gladly share the details. The family consisted of John
Evans (father), Elizabeth (wife); sons:
Griffith, William, Richard, David, and Joshua; daughters: Mary, Amy or
Emmet who married a Thomas, and Elizabeth. John's will is in
Loudoun County and is dated 10/4/1766. I learned that John purchased land in Charles Town Township,
Chester Co., Pa in 1724 and lived there until 1763 when he moved with most of his family to
Loudoun County, Va. He was a blacksmith, as were most of his sons. His sons David and
Griffith Evans have wills in Tredyffrin Township,
Chester County, Pa."
