Ellen: I am also a great, great granddaughter of Grigg and Allie Bryant. I think that makes us third cousins. Agnes Bryant was my Great Grandmother; She married Thomas Henry Jackson and had 14 children. Only 4 of the 14 had children. Randolph Jackson (my Grandfather) married Sadie Bell Payne and had 5 children. James Munson Jackson married Margaret Foote and had three children. Della Jackson maried Franklin Foote and had four children. Horace Jackson married Myrtle Martin and had 2 or 3 children. I found the will of Joseph Lewis, (slave owner) who freed Grigg and all of his siblings upon his death. The will also gave the names of his parents as Harry and Patty.

Some of my Loudoun County Footes and Jacksons are the same as yours, I believe. James Munson Jackson was my grandfather's brother. He married Margaret Foote and they had three children, Roosevelt, Arnetta (which you have listed) and another son, Ulysses. Also, my grandfather's sister, Della Jackson married Franklin Foote anf they had four children, Edward, Thomas, Eleanor and Fred.

Thanks for the additions! We are definately researching the same lines though my connection is rather distant since it's cousin-in-laws,but I know that researcher Lloyd Smith (deceased) was researching this family:

"Thomas Henry Jackson was born 1859 and in the 1870 census was living with a white family in Snickersville,(now Bluemont)Loudon County, Virginia. It was stated by Roosevelt Jackson,his grandson, that his grandmother worked for General Thomas Jonathan Jackson ,"Stonewall". How he wound up living there, we don't know. Thomas Henry, married Agnes Bryant Jackson, born in 1860 in nearby Hamilton, Va. They had a son named James Munson Jackson, who moved to Fairfax Conty, Va. and married Margaret Foote Jackson, the daughter of Frederick Foote, an ex-slave and a scout for the Union Army in the Civil War. James and Margaret had a son named Roosevelt Jackson and a daughter named Arnetta Jackson Phillips. Roosevelt was born in 1902 in Fairfax County, Va. and graduated from the "Old M Street" High School and joined the U.S, Army, 9th Cavalry, and later served in the 369th, "Hellfighters from Harlem" Regt. General Benjamin O. Davis also graduated from the "Old M Street " High School.

Good Evening, I have some information concerning some of the people on your list...Wesley and Mollie Trammel had five children that I know of so far...they are /were; William, Joseph, Oley, Pearl, and Mabel Trammel...Mabel I met because she was my great aunt on my father's side. Wesley and Mollie were my father's grandparents. My father was Elwood William Trammel and his father was Joseph Henry Trammel who married Lily (Lillie) Gaskins. Pearl, Mabel, Oley,etc. were his(my grandfather's), siblings.

Hello Elsie, My name is Barbara Pierce, I am doing research on some of the Loudoun County Bryants. I know that one of my Bryants married into the Trammel Family. My gggrandparents were Grigg and Allie Bryant. Some of their children were Lydia Ann, George, Sarah, Richard, Patty, Lee, Charlotte, and Agnes (my great grandmother). I have always heard that there was some American Indian ancestry, but I don't know who, when or where. If you can share some info regarding this, I will be most appreciative.
