Greenville (Texas) Messenger, Tuesday, 14 Aug 1906, page 4:

"Death at Elm Creek

David, the little son of Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Mullens of the Elm Creek community died last Thursday after a short and painfully (sic) illness. David was a bright little fellow and only recently had been handling a team and doing farm work like a man, being unusually clever for a boy of his age in the care and use of horses. He is greatly missed by the community and sorely mourned by the family."

Thanks so much! I thought The D. D. Mullins family moved to Okla. Do you know where the Elm Creek Cemetery is located?

I know an 89-yo man from Caddo Mills that has told me of hunting for rabbits as a kid near the cemetery. I have only seen the sign for the cemetery on Texas Highway 66 on the way to Caddo Mills from Greenville

I have seen this cemetery recently and it breaks my heart to see the condition is it in at this writing. It is located far off the road and dead ends into the cemetery. Had I not had my uncle with me and he knew right where it was, I would have never known it was there. Tall weeds, (over my head), trash, markers knocked over, etc. We made our way through some of the cemetery and I could see markers everywhere. Small one and large ones. I wish there was some way to have this cemetery maintained on a regular basis. There are prominent citizens of Caddo Mills and Greenville buried here. Sad situation!

I am sorry to say many Hunt County, Tx cemeteries are in this condition. My gt.-grandfather is buried at Hopewell Cemetery, nr. Floyd, Hunt Co., TX. It is by a creek that floods the cemetery. Tombstones are turned sideways and leaning in every direction. Some are missing. It is very sad. One day I called the Greenville Police Dept. because large excavating machines were excavating near the cemetery, I was afraid they would do away with the cemeterey and build houses there.

I do not live near the Mullins Cemetery.
