Services For W. E. Taylor Held Today

W. E. Taylor, 80, pioneer Hunt county resident, and retired postal employee, died at his home 3(?)104 Bourland St. at 3:30 o'clock Sunday. Mr. Taylor had been in ill health since July and a few days ago contracted influenza, which developed into pneumonia causing his death.

Funeral services were held at the Central Christian church at 2 o'clock this afternoon by Rev. Leo Johnston, pastor and Rev. Leo Co(?), pastor of the Church of Christ. Interment followed in East Mount Cemetery.

He was perhaps one of the best known men in this city, residing here since 1903. He was a faithful Christian, devoted to his family and sincere to his friends. He has been an active member of the Central Christian church since boyhood.

W. E. Taylor was born in Graves Countynty Kentucky, April 29, 1848 and came to Texas when 18 years of age settling near Campbell. He resided there until 21 years of age at which time he was united in marriage to Miss Callie Crump. They moved to Moore's Prairie, where his wife died in 1878. August 10, 1879 he was united in marriage to Miss Lucy Pate of Sulphur Springs, who survives him. In 1903 they moved to this city where for fifteen years Mr. Taylor was employed at the local post office in charge of the special delivery department. He retired several years ago.

Besides his widow he is survived by one nephew Roy Pate of Wichita Falls, two brothers, John of Jacksonville and Joe of Wellington, Texas, two sisters, Mrs. O. P. Coats of Jacksonville and Mrs. R. M. Coats of Kirkland.

The bereaved relatives have the sympathy of their many friends in this hour of sadness.
