Larry- I don't have a George Alonzo Packard in my line. You
might want to try Bradford County, Pa. My ggg-grandfather,
Herrick Almeron Packard was supposed to have come from
Granville Summit, Bradford County, Pa. There are several
Packard families from there that ended up in Lycoming Cty.
Good luck. Candy

My mother was Doris Veley. I have traced Minard and Abigail.
The info I have is that Minard was born in Applachin Co, Ny and Abigail was born in New Jersey.

Everything I find is that the Allen families came from England. Even the Veley's are not found in Holland.

Do you have anything on their parents? Could you send me what you know. I will send you a text file showing my side of the Veley Family.

Hi Ken,
The information I have is from a book put together by Spencer Kraybill who lived in Waterville, PA. It is the same as you have. His book does say that the name in Holland was Volkertsgen. They obviously shortened it when they came to America.
My family line is from Emily Veley, daughter of Minard and Abigail. Who were the parents of your mother, Doris Veley?
You can answer me here or email me direct.

I am George and Jessie's grandson, Jeff Packard. So far I have traced the Packards back to the late 18th century. I will file your e-mail and try to keep you up on my tree.

George was one of Charles and Sarah Packard's family. Charles was one of William and Dolly Packard's brood. William and Dolly were born in CT.

As far as I have been able to find out, the Packard's in Lycoming County are either direct from Herrick and Emily Veley Packard, or from Granville Summit. Herrick is supposedly from Granville Summit. Son of Joel Packard. Candy
