HARMONY - Cletus
Junior Butcher, Sr, 79, of 170 Aaron Road, died Wednesday, Nov. 4, 2009 at
Iredell Memorial Hospital.
He was born in
Surry County on May 24, 1930, son of the late Margie
Butcher.
Also preceding him in death was a son, Cletus J. Butcher Jr. He was a retired truck driver with
Piedmont Concrete and is survived by his wife of 54 years,
Genevie Dyson Butcher. He served in the U. S. Army during the Korean War.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by sons, Glenn Dale
Dyson (Jessie) of Germantown,
KY, Ronnie
Butcher (
Ginger) of Winston-Salem; and daughter Julia B. Lewis (Jim) of Yadkinville; as well as daughter-in-law,
Lesa Butcher; nine grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren also survive.
Services celebrating his life are scheduled for Friday, Nov. 6, at 10:30 a.m. in the Ernest M. Troutman Memorial
Chapel of
Reavis Funeral Home of
Harmony. Burial will follow in
Park Lawn Cemetery at 12:30 p.m. in Winston-Salem with military rites being afforded at the graveside. The family will receive friends on Friday prior to the service from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home. Condolences may be sent to the family online to
