This is so funny. I looked at this posting the other day and thought to myself. This person did not leave times or anything else for that matter. Then I realized something. this was one of my old postings when I had just got started in genealogy. I feel pretty dumb now.
I have a lady I am looking for and have so very little information on her. Yet it should be enouth for me to find anything or something. Her name is Jane Jones est birth in the early 1800's she married a William Jones or took on his name, not sure. Some of her children are Wm's stepchildren. Their name appeared to be Bowman. Now this is were it gets odd. One of her daughter married a Wilson and on her marrage certificate states the daughters name as Hulda Ann Woods or Wood(she had never been married) and list her mother as Jane Woods or Wood (illegitimate). in 1850 the children in Carrol Co. are listed as Bowman's then in Patrick Co. they are going by the name of Jones. In early 1900's in the old moody's Funeral Home postings at the court house in Dobson, NC, I believe, the Wm Jones death md to a Jane is the same people I am looking for. This is a basic record so I don't know if moody's would have a list of where these people on those pages are buried. Thanks, for responding.

Have you noticed the ages of these children? Or that on the 1860 census William is listed as her husband but the Bowman children do not show up until the 1880 census and the oldest is only 15? Which means that if Janes is the mother she had them at age 45 and after. But they are listed as Williams stepchildren. According to the census Janes and William were together by that time??????????????
