I am helping a friend locate resources in Ulster County for researching a death that may have occurred there 2 May 1931. An Ella Chiacra/Chiacchiera died on that date and was butied in a NYC cemetery a few days later. Cemetery records (with name misspelled Chiara) indicate she died OT (out of town) but don't specify the location. There were relatives in Binnewater/Rosendale area, and my friend believes Ella was with them at the time of her death.

Are there on-line resources such as old newspapers from that area, or other records that might prove helpful? Is there a local library that would have old papers on microfilm?

Any suggestions on an approach to locating a death record would be appreciated. I live in NJ and cannot currently travel to NY for research.
