I am surprised to see so many posts all of a sudden!!

I have been down for a couple of months with a broken leg which required surgery...so I have been having lots of fun!

When I originally posted this message I did not know that I was working on erroneous information. I thought that my grandfather's father was Daniel Every/Avery...however I have since found out that my grandfather was not from this line.

My grandfathers name was Virgil Avery b. 1859 in Krumville, d. 20 October 1930 in Ellenville. He was married to Ella Sherman b. 17 Nov. 1866, probably in the Town of Rochester, d. 14 Aug 1939 in Ellenville.

Virgil Avery's father was Joseph Avery b. 1825 Town of Olive or Rochester and Virgil's mother was Mary Davis b. 1829

I have not been able to find very much information on Joseph Avery at all, but as it seems he came from the same area AND since his name is spelled Every in some of the censuses I have to assume that his is related to the other Avery/Every's there --- in some way at least.

Soooo if anyone has any information at all on Joseph Avery, I would really appreciate it!!

I have Daniels parents as Moses born abt 1801 married to Hannah Davis Haver ( Hauver) born 1804
Children Richard, William, Phoebe, Daniel, Anne, Sarah,Susan, Rachael, Obdiah

Adding another question RE: Avery/Every. Does anyone know of these persons: Sarah Elizabeth Cross (1848-1920) who lived near Shokan, NY-married to ? Avery and had a daughter, Maude who may have married a Harry Graves. Names associated with this family are Blue Gate, Manitoo Lodge and Moonhall Rd?? A second marriage may have been ? Eighmey, although David Avery was mentioned. Thanks for any help.
