looking for someone to do a bit of look up work

I am unable to make the trip myself, so am hoping to find someone who can help me, at low cost, please.

My great aunt and her husband moved to Wilson, Colfax County sometime after 1870 and before the 1880 census.
They had two children with them, one named Clara born 1871 in Michigan, the other I am not aware of the name.

Both children died, presumably in Wilson.
I have no idea when Colfax County started to record deaths or if the cemeteries there have indexes complete enough to include these two children.

Alonzo Mason Brant and Libby Maria "Marie" Mosey were the parents, and farmed there for several years...or perhaps it's decades.

By 1900 they had moved and were farming in Banner County.

I need some help with this one...but funds are fairly limited for this project. I would profer to be informed as to the rate of records and such, and charge for your services BEFORE you begin to work.

I am interested in the land papers for their ranch/farm.
You can reach me directly at either MQuiltr2@aol.com or PhotoRestore54@aol.com

Thank you, in advance
Mary Ellen

My great great grandfather was JOHN KONICEK (b. abt 1834 - Bohemia) and married to SOPHY KONICEK (b. abt 1843 - Bohemia).

They had 3 children Sophy Konicek (b. abt 1873 - Nebraska), Amannel Konicek	(b. abt 1868 - Bohemia), and JOHN KONICEK (b. 11/01/1861).

John married Anna and then Emma Hruska (b. abt 1878).

Anna was the mother of the first 3 children: EDWARD (05/17/1888), EMIL b.1890/1891?, and JOHN (b. 1896?). Then Emma had Paul (b. 1898), Maymie (Mayme) b. 1904, and my grandfather Alvin b. 1905.

If anyone would like to chat about the NE/ID Konicek's please email me at jklaabs at hot mail. I am new to this since today after working about 6 hours...

Jeremy Laabs

I am not sure what I have... don't remember the Bowman family (except for a
fellow healthcare worker in Lincoln 0 from Grnad Island). I would definitely
like to put some names to these pictures but we have had somedificulty
placing this number of scans on the site. It is quite a project but I do
have a bit more time now so maybe I should take this on. It would be a feel
good thing to share these.
craig

Curel". Book 5 includes marriages from January 14, 1903 - August 4, 1908. You can request a copy of the record from the Colfax County Clerk for $1.00. Go to the link above (then follow the link for BMD, then Vital Records) for additional information (address, etc.)

I have her parents as Con Scanlan and Mary Waters also. Marys' parents were Garrett and Johanna Murphy Waters. After Mary married Con they moved to Colfax County Nebraska. Shortly after her family followed, parents and 4 siblings....Ellen, James, Edward and Garrett. They all stayed in Colfax county. I think Con's parents were Con Sr and .....McGready. If you go to Colfax County Nebraska page there is a message board there, and I know I saw some request for Scanlans. Email me at anom3249@yahoo.com. I am a decendent of James Waters.

From family lore the Spulak's moved to New Era, Oregon in about 1880. They also lived in Canby, Oregon, and the house they built there still is being lived in by an unrelated family. Frank(Franz)Spulak is buried in the Baker Pioneer Cemetery in Canby. There is a Margaret Spulak also buried there too, but I haven't been able to determine how she is related, but I'm sure there's a connection. I was told by my father, before he passed, that there were numerous cousins of the Spulak's that also moved out there, at about the same time. Supposedly there is some connection with the Wannamaker family and the Spulak's, but again I haven't determined where.

They moved to Oregon for the weather and the general environment. I believe they didn't like the severe winters in Nebraska.

My great grandfather Franz(Frank)Spulak came to the US in 1866 and was in Nebraska by 1870. I've yet to determine if there were any other Spulak's with him when he came over. His 1873 US passport application says he was from "Platz" Bohemia.

Robert Spulak

Thank you for your reply!

If I should come across any information on the Spulak Family in my search for Rosie Spulak (who married into my family), I will let you know.

I am curious, Do you know what interest your family had in moving to Oregon? One of the Kacin brothers (all came from CZECH. in late 1800's) moved away from his family in Nebraska, all the way to Oregon.

Thank you, Tracy

The Bouska name is a valid surname, but it is not in any of my family tree. Bosak has never, to my knowledge, been spelled in that manner clear back to the 1600's Bohemia. My great grandfather came to the US in 1866, from Bohemia and settled in Saline Co. Nebraska originally, but was found in the 1870 census in Colfax Co. There were no other "Spulak's" listed on the ship with him when he came over. There were Spulaks also there at the time, but I have no idea how they are related and as far as I know there is no one, other than myself, that is doing Spulak research. There's only about 3,000 Spulak surnamed people in the US. There is even fewer in the area they came from.
My Spulak moved to Oregon from Neb. in 1880.

Wish I could have been more help. I have my family tree listed on Ancestry.com.

Robert Spulak

This is a long shot but I need help with my research.

Anton Kyncl Married Rosie Spulak - I found this in a Nebraska, Colfax County marriages. They had a son named Alvin Anton Kyncl. I am still trying to research this information and add Rosie Spulak into this family.

Emily or Emilie Kyncl married an Unknown Bouska??? Could this be Bosak? Just curious. It was written as Bouska in an Obituary but I am having a terrible time proving anything.

Just wanted to know if any of these names are in your reseach.

Thank you, Tracy

I don't know if this is the Vaclav Dudycha you are looking for, but on page 461 of the book "History of Czechs in America" by Jan Habenicht there is the following information about a Vaclav Dudycha. It is from the chapter on the State of Illinois and it is talking about the Evangelical reformed church in Chicago. It said that in June 1900 Pastor Vaclav Dudycha suceeded another pastor at the church which was located at the corner of Ashland Avenue and 19th Street. Pastor Dudycha had been born in Bor near Prosec on July 23, 1863. He was raised in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, where he studied. Then he left for New York to study theology and he was ordained on October 12, 1892.

I have just finished placing two messages on the Praha message board. We spent a week in Salt Lake City at the LDS Family History Center and found no records of my grandmother there. I did contact a lady from Bohemia that did help steer me in the right direction. She stated that they do not have many records of that area due to there destruction during the wars. I was given a form letter to find a researcher in the Czech. Republic. I also had good luck with another lady researcher in Praha. If you contact me direct I will give you her email address if you like. I have been researching my line since the inception of the internet, more than 20 years now. j_powell@qwest.net. It is interesting that you say Veronika died in Burt County as the Stanek that I am looking for is listed as living in Lyon, Burt County, Nebraska in 1964. The town only has 600 people and this could very well be Marie's sister. The Orbit lists her as a "Mrs. J. Stanek" maybe a Mrs. Jerry Stanek? Jim Powell

Hi,

Is there anyone local who would be willing to photograph 2 graves in Howells Nebraska for me?
St John Nepomucene Cemetery, Howells, Nebraska
Row 8 east to west

Frank Stanek Marie Stanek
1864 - 1933 1868 - 1944

Also, does anyone know if records exist for this church? I am interested in the following family--I would like to know the place of origin in Bohemia:

Frank Stanek 37 born August 1864 Bohemia, parents born Bohemia, married 11 years, came to US in 1890
Mary Stanek 32 born born November 1867 Bohemia, married 11 years, 5 children, all living, came to US in 1890
Frank Stanek 12 born May 1888 Bohemia
Mary Stanek 9 born August 1890 United States (Bohemia crossed out)
Joseph Stanek 7 born August 1892 Nebraska
Fanny Stanek 6 born February 1894 Nebraska
Agnes Stanek 5 born January 1895 Nebraska

Source Citation: Year: 1900; Census Place: Monterey, Cuming, Nebraska; Roll: T623 920; Page: 3B; Enumeration District: 63.

The family is living in Colfax County in 1910. I have the death certificates for Marie and Frank Stanek and an exact place of birth is not given (just country of birth, Bohemia)

Thanks,
Laurel in Maryland

Bonnie - thanks for your help. After I had posted this query, I finally found Anna on the same page as her brother Otto Bott in Garden Co., NB in the 1910 census. I had reported her mother as widowed because she reported herself that way in 1900 (as I read it), then I found Gottleib very much alive and reported as divorced. I also have not found him in 1910. I have searched for all of the children and he does not appear in any lists that I have found. I appreciate getting the cemetery information. Thanks again.
BTW-The Zartman (as I have the spelling from PA and OH) are descendants of a Gottleib Leffler who came to America in 1749 - I am tracing his descendants and am approaching 14,000 in my FTM database.
Lora C

Does anyone have information on an Anna BOTT, born about 1873, the daughter of Gottleib BOTT and Martha ZARTMAN BOTT? She married a Mr. POOL, first name unknown, probably before 1900 as she is not with the BOTT family in the 1900 census. Her mother was widowed before the 1900 census, but owned the family farm in Grant Twp., Colfax County, NB. I have information that she was living in Deuel County, NB about 1909 when a book about the ZARTMAN family was published, but cannot find her in the 1910 census. Any information would be appreciated.
Lora C

my name is michelle. My half brother was born in 1967,Cleveland,Ohio. His name is William E.Bosak. He was named after his father. Our mothers' name is Dorothy Satullo. They had a "common law" marriage and lived in Cleveland,Oh. When my brother was a toddler our mother left his father. My brother has never seen him since. If there is anyway you can let me know if you know of a William E. Bosak I and my brother would be eternally grateful. Our mother refuses to talk about him, and what little we do know may be lies. This is what we know: He was born in P.A., he may have been adopted- Roberts is surname. He may have a sister named MaryAnn. If you have any info. please contact me at michellemiller3@neo.rr.com. Thank you!

I'm looking for more information on Vaclav Dudycha (b. abt 1850 in Bohemia, immigrated to the US in 1884) and his wife Catherine (last name unknown, b. abt 1860). They had three children, John J. Dudycha (b. 1886), Vaclav Dudycha (b. 1891), and Annie Dudycha (b. 1894).

Census records show John J. Dudycha's residence as Midland in 1900 and 1910 and as Adams in 1920. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!
