I love doing my geneology and my husbands. He was a grandson to Margaret
Breedlove. Lee said Grandma
Breedlove was a little woman and quite a horsewoman.
Irvin and
Betsey had three children and she died having a set of stillborn twins, according to one resource. I am trying to be careful and keep up my concrete bibliogarphy as I go. The story I read said she asked her best friend Diana
Phillips to raise her children and marry her husband when he got back. (This is legend at this point).
What I do know is that
Irvin E. Breedlove was 6 foot,dark eyes and dark hair. It was interesting at one point in the calvery statements it said his hair was light.
He mustered into the 2
Calvery of Arkansas/enlisted May 14,
1864 at BelleFort,
Ark. He was born in Warren,NC. He married
Betsey between 1847-1855 in
Morgan,TN (LDS resources).
He was absent without leave for approx 1 year and returned
in8-20-1865, I wonder if that was due to
Betsey dying. He married Diana
Phillips and had more children. He and
Betsey by the census of 1860, had Mary M.Breedlove, age 6; Martha
J. Breedlove 4; and W.M. Breedlove 2: Her last name was snow. I'm guessing her mother and her children were on the same census. (Let me know if it is correct); Mary Snow 52;
Samuel Snow 6;James Snow 2;John Snow 6 months; Alexander 19;
Solomon Snow 15; Samuel Snow 13; I would love to have the information for my daughter that goes back to the Mayflower. I would also love to have a picture of Margaret and
Irvin. I have a picture of Margaret's son Marion. He was dark and a handsome guy. I know that the Breedloves were full blood Cherokee as far as Lee told me.
