Working on this line. My great great grandmother was Mary E. Anderson married Marshall Meador in McDonald County. Think her father was Robert Anderson who founded town of Anderson. Anyone else working on this line?

There is a Robert T. and Hester (Morse)ANDERSON that lived in Newton / McDonald Co., MO. They are listed in the 1850 census of McDonald Co., p. 112. They did not have a daughter named Mary, but they had a son, Robert W., who was born ca. 1836. Could this be your family? Robert and Hester's oldest child, Elizabeth, was my ancestress.

I might have a connection with your Robert Anderson. I'm a direct decendant of the Robert Anderson that founded the town of Anderson, Missouri. He did have a daughter named Mary, but I think she died when she was young. She's no longer listed with the family after 1860 in the US census. But there is a family that gets confused with the Andersons who founded Anderson, where there's Robert and Hester Anderson. They may be the one's you're looking for.

However I am connected to the Meadors through my great-great grandmother Illinois Meador, who married Robert Anderson's some Stephen Wilson. Illinois was the sister of your Marshall.

My husband is a descendent of Mahulda Jane Anderson (B.1850). I believe she is the daughter of Robert Anderson and Nancy Testerman.
Of course, the family version is that they are related to the Anderson for which Anderson, MO is named. I have been able to find that Anderson was so named because a Robert Anderson owned the store in which the first post office was located and that this Robert Anderson also served as the first post master. But, how do you know that this (your) Robert Anderson is indeed, the first post master of Anderson?

Because my Mary Anderson was born to Robert Anderson and his wife Nancy Testerman. She married Marshall Meador. He was a surveyor and plated the town of Anderson. His family donated the land for the Anderson cemetery.

Can you give me any information regarding a sister named Martha Jane. She was my grandfather's mother and was supposed to be a sister to the Robert Anderson that founded Anderson, MO. I am also interested in any service in the Confederacy for Robert T. and Robert W.

the Robert T Anderson your talking about (b. 1797 wife was Hester Elizabeth Morse) was in the Civil War he was enlisted in the Confederate Army and served 4 years- The Army with which he was serving drifted into Texas & he was there when the war ended.

My Robert Anderson was married to Nancy Testerman and had children, Hulda Jane, Stephen Wilson, Rebecca, Martha and Mary.
