Classification: Query
Surnames: Scott, Wait, Waite, Waits, Parham, Graves, Sims
Correction for first paragraph: They moved to the Montgomery and Yell (not Lee) County, Arkansas areas about 1904. They are in the 1910 census in Yell County.

Also, John Calvin Scott born about 1864 MS was the son of John Scott born about 1824 AL. Many family stories say both were named John Calvin Scott but I have no proof that the father had the middle name of Calvin. It only says John Scott on the census and his marriage document.

Lastly, there is more information. Virginia Wait's parents were James Wait and Sarah Sims from Laurens, SC. Dna testing matched known descendents of this couple. We believe John Scott's parents were William Scott b. 1788 SC and Judith Unknown b. 1790 SC and living in Fayette County, TN in 1840 and 1850. William Scott died in 1850 and Judith died unknown. Other possible chlldren of this couple: Benjamin Scott b. 1814 KY married Eliza Campbell in Fayette, TN and they moved to St. Francis, AR nearby in 1850. Winfrey/Wenfry Scott b. 1816 KY married Polly Baulkum/Bacom in Fayette, TN and they lived in Fayette in 1850. Sarah A. Scott b. 1833 TN is on the 1850 census with Judith and John and is probably either a sister to John or maybe his first wife. John moved to Pontotoc, MS by 1853 we believe. Some of the other people in Fayette, TN also moved to Pontotoc, MS. One was Leroy Clements/Clemons/Clemens whose son Eli married Winfrey's daughter Susan A. and are found living next to Leroy and his family and John Scott and his family in 1860 Pontotoc, MS. I would love to know more about all these people if anyone can help me.
