I am, and I am researching the surname Achilles. I was wondering if they were Greek. Maybe there can be a connection.

I am searching for information on Conradina Achilles who was from Prussia. She settled in Union township, Des Moines County, Iowa. She was married to Jacob Sandvoss. Their daughter, my great-grandmother, Wilhelmina Sandvoss married Frederick Hermann. I believe they lived in Ft. Madison, Iowa. Conradina had a brother Conrad. I know very little about them and nothing about their parents. Any help would be appreciated. I found a mention here in the Wright County Mn. of Achilles so I thought that I would post a message here too.

Contradina Achilles is somehow related to my ggrandmother Christina Achilles, Pittsburgh, Pa., 1880 Census. Christina donated the cemetary space for Contradina. I'm having a hard time with this family, too.
