Winifred Florence GURD - 1921 Dowling Rd., Dowling, MI, age 91, passed away April 24, 1997 at Pennock Hospital, Hastings, MI. She was born May 8, 1905 in Dayton, TN, the daughter of Clarence and Edith May (WRIGHT) CAMPBELL, and attended Hastings High School. She was manager of the former Dewitt Nursing Home in Hastings for 6 years, and a clerk at the former Blairs of Hastings. She was a member of the Cedar Creek Bible Church. She loved traveling and being a "care giver". On August 1, 1922, she married John GURD, who survives. Also surviving are 2 daughters and husbands, Geraldine and Robert CLINTON of Nashville, Margaret and Norman ARMSTRONG of Hastings; son and wife, Glenn and Mary GURD of Nashville; 11 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; 1 sister, Frances CLOSSON of Lakeland, FL. She was preceded in death by her parents; and 4 brothers and sisters. Visitation 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. today at the Williams Funeral Home Delton. Funeral Services will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. at the Cedar Creek Bible Church with Dr. Brent Branham officiating. Burial Cedar Creek Cemetery.
