Classification: Query
Surnames: STONE, REED, NEVINS
Greetings,
I am trying to find out whatever happened to my (newly-discovered) first-cousin-twice-removed. She was born 1 January 1899 in Hampshire Co. (probably Worthington or Cummington), and was the daughter of farmer John Burdick STONE and Jennie L. REED Stone. Her parents were divorced c. 1901-1903, after which her mother legally changed her surname to REED. Ruth lived with her mother and maiden aunt running a boarding house in Greenwich, Mass. at least until her mother died there in 1913 of tuberculosis. When her father died (in Worthington?) 13 February 1932, she was mentioned in the probate documents (May 1932) as Ruth R. NEVINS, his only heir and next of kin, living at 16 Davison St., Springfield, Mass. I have not been able to find anything further on her in censuses, at Ancestry.com, Rootsweb, WorldConnect, familysearh.org, or by Googling.
Would be very grateful for any help or suggestions. Will be happy to share info.
