Hello Cynthia, My Great-Grandfather Nykola Gesiorek immigrated to Canada in approx. 1905 from Brody. From records we know that he was born in Brody, Vicisko, Brockie, Poland. To date we have been unable to find any maps with this District. We do believe the the Brody they are referring to is now Brody, Ukraine. Maybe you could e-mail me back. Maybe we are related.... It would be very exciting to hear from you.

hope that you look at these message. The Name Gesiorek is a polish one and turnedin Germany around 1800 to the name Gezork. In Germany the "S" of Gesoriek is spoken as an "Z" and the "i" and last "e" have been lost. So today the name is Gezork and there are a lot of them in Germany. Why are you looking for and who are you?

I am not a Gensorek, but know of some who are in my family. My Aunt Nellie Derlago (now almost104 years old) married an Anthony Gensorek in Manitoba, Canada. His brother, Leon, married my other aunt, Rose Derlago. The 2 men are deceased, as is Rose.
Nellie and Anthony had 5 children:
Joe(deceased), Frank(deceased), Effie(deceased) and John (living in Rossburn, Manitoba) and Walter(living in Angusville, Manitoba). Joe and John had no children. Frank had two sons, Gerald(living in Calgary, Alberta)and David(deceased). Gerald has 3 children, who live with their mother, Debbie, in Winnipeg, Manitoba. You can reach them at ddms1@mts.net. They are Matthew, David and Sarah.
Effie married Joe Bart and had one daughter, Shirley. She is living in Shoal Lake, Manitoba. Walter has a few kids, but I don't know them.
Leon and Rose had 4 children: Mildred (deceased- no kids),
Nettie (deceased) married Mike Verbowski. They had 3 children: Ron, Beverly and Myra. They are married and have kids, but I don't know the girls' married names.
Kenneth is the son of Rose and Leon (bachelor) and lives in Rossburn, Manitoba. Lorna is the youngest. She is widowed and lives in Rossburn, as well. Her daughter, Judy, lives in Winnipeg, Manitoba.

I have church records from Huta Brodska Ukraine dating 1780 - 1900 of our Gesiorek family. My Great-Grandfather and family immigrated to Canada in early 1906. We are doing family research.

I now need to start researching extended family that may still be in Europe.
