God's Acre Cemetery

Can anyone tell me where in Frederick County, Maryland this old cemetery was located? Several ancestors are buried there but it seems to have disappeared. These folks were associated with the Evangelical Lutheran Church, which I also can't locate for sure. (Hohwerter/Hovatter surnames)

Evangelical Church is in the first block of East Church St running through to Second St. The old church faces Second St and only a stone or two remained when I last saw it as most of the property has had buildings erected. I previously found a listing of one of my ancestors buried at "God's Little Acre" and this is where he is listed as having been buried.

Have you seen the listings in "Lutheran Marriages and Burials - 1743-1811" with the spelling Hochwaerter?

Thanks for the quick reply!
I have not seen the database of marriages. Where can I find it? I have been trying to find all the primary sources I can to verify what is on the Web. I have found several errors already, but nothing too major. My husband is a descendant of Jacob (b. 1777.
Do you have much on this family?

One more question, if you don't mind. Does your book mention the death of Jacob Haller on 12 May 1807? I was wondering if a widow (Anna Maria Hochwaerter) survived him? He is buried in God's Acre Cemetery indicating that his death should be recorded at the Evangelical Lutheran church. Thanks in advance! Susan

Thanks again! I guess that implies that Anna Maria Hochwaerter survived him as well as the six children.

You've been a big help. Susan

Dear Susan: Hope you are still out there.... I am looking for the same cemetery. My line is Daniel Abel-Auvil & Anna Hochwaerter. Also trying to find their graves. Any luck from your end?
