My gg grandfather was Jerome "Rooney" Duvall (1855-unk) from Maryland. I do not know what city or county in Maryland that he was born in. Per the 1860 census he lived in Jefferson, Frederick, MD with father Zacheriah (circa 1810-unk) and mother Sarah (circa 1820-unk). Per the 1870 census he lived in Catoctin, Frederick, MD again with Zacheriah and Sarah as his parents. However, I cannot find any other information about Zacheriah or Sarah. I am trying to find out who Zachariah's parents were and what Sarah's maiden name is and who her parents were. If anyone has any information about the Duvall's of Frederick County, MD I would really appreciate it.

The closest I have is from Marriage Licenses of Frederick County Maryland 1841-1865. There's an entry for Zelophehad Duvall married to Sarah Herring May 30, 1855. There were no listings for a Zacheriah in the 1850 census from the census book that I have. Nor is there any listings of one in "Names in Stone" which lists all the tombstones in Frederick County up to around 1960. You can find that book here on Ancestry.com you'll want page 357 or so.

You can also try contacting the Frederick Historical Society http://www.hsfcinfo.org/ they seem to have some items on the Duvall families.
