Ruby Amburgy MOORE, age 92 years and 6 months, formerly of Franklin, OH and a resident of Kingston of Miamisburg, OH passed away July 28, 2009. Ruby was born in Owsley County, KY on January 27, 1917, one of eleven children of Robert and Callie (Kilburn) Amburgy. On March 20, 1937, Ruby married Norman MOORE and they had celebrated their 71st wedding anniversary before Norman passed away on April 2, 2008. Ruby leaves four daughters, Shelby (Gary) Shuppert and Donna (Hank) Bannon, both of Trenton, OH, Carolyn Hale and Linda (Charles) Petrey, both of Carlisle, OH. One daughter-in-law, Sue MOORE of Venice, FL, ten grandchildren, Sam Marcum, Gina Paskell, Jerry Hale, Susan Cheek, Carla Litty, Amy Hale, Joni Linhardt, Cheri Gay, Christy Stamper and Todd Petrey, 16 great-grandchildren and seven great-great-grandchildren, one brother Clarence (Evelyn) Amburgy of Waynesville, OH; three sisters, Ruth Kroener of Maineville, OH, Nancy (Arvie) Scott of Beavercreek, OH, Betty (Everett) Lamb of Lebanon, OH; also one sister-in-law, Pearl Amburgy of Lebanon, OH and many nieces, nephews and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and her only son, Norman, Jr. on June 23, 2003 whom she loved so dearly, a great-granddaughter, Ashley Marcum in 1992, and a son-in-law, Gerald Hale in 2005, four brothers, Cortous Amburgy, Charles Amburgy, Ragan Amburgy and Elmo Amburgy, two sisters, Lena Bradenburg and Stella Cooper. Ruby was a devoted wife, mother and grandma. She enjoyed nothing more than spending time with her family, especially holiday gatherings, family reunions, picnics and camping. She loved her cat, Baby. Ruby received Christ as her Savior in her youth and faithfully served the Lord her entire life. She was a member of Dixie Highway Christian Center and loved gospel music. Funeral service will be held at Anderson Funeral Home, 40 North Main Street, Springboro, Ohio on August 3, 2009 at 1:00 pm with Pastor Dave Bowling officiating, whom the family thanks for his many visits and prayers. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm. Burial in Miami Cemetery, Corwin, OH. The family would also like to express their gratitude to the staff of Kingston of Miamisburg for their care of Ruby. Also, thanks to all the caring staff of Crossroads Hospice, especially Cindy Sams. We will miss you, Mom.
