need to find out who his father was he came to cowcreek about 1860 from crockettsville his wife was elizabeth allen he is my grandfathers grandfather

In my records I have the parents of Samuel as Whitley Smith and Elizabeth Maner. I have Elizabeth Allen's parents as Major John Allen and Rhoda Riley. I do not know if this info is 100% correct. Hope this helps.....Donna

Randall, George Whitley Smith was my GGGG Grandfather. He was born in North Carolina in 1816, d. Ky (?) m. Elizabeth Maner/Maynard. His son was Samuel Smith b. 1847, d. 1903 m. Elizabeth Allen b. 1844. Samuel's son was William (Little Bill) Smith b. 1878 d. 1957, m. Polly Stamper b.1878, d. 1951. They had 9 children. George Sr. was my Grandfather. He m. Mary Sandlin, daughter of Garrett and Amanda Sandlin. George was killed in a Coal Mine Accident in 1928 when my Mother was 2 months old. Her maiden name was Juanita Smith born Long's Creek, Morris Fork, Breathitt County, KY.

I have searched many years for George Whitley Smith. I have never been able to find how the family got to Kentucky from North Carolina. Recently, I got a lead in NC and am tracking that lead now. If you have tried any particular ways to find out how our Smiths arrived in KY, I would appreciate hearing from you, as it may save me some time. IF I GATHER ANTHING ON THIS SEARCH, I WILL WRITE YOU.
