Does anyone know if there are any marriage records for Owsley County available. I know the courthouse burned on 2 occasions, just wondering if someone had some type of older marriage records Thanks

I have a lot of KY marriage records taken from papers. I'd be happy to look for any names you have. (late 1790's to 1860's)

Aslo, I noticed that you have Moore and Angel listedin your surnames. I'm wondering if we may be connected along the line. My grandfather was a Moore, and I believe one of his sisters may have married an Angel.

Lori, Thanks so much I am looking for info on William Franklin Cole, he first married a Elizabeth ?? and then a Mary Martha Garrett, He was living in Owsley with Elizabeth but not sure about when he married Mary martha in a 10 year span he moved on to Jackson Co Ky. My Moore's were from Whitley Co Ky and then my direct line moved on to Pulaski Co Ky. If you need any help from Pulaski Co I have lots of census, marriage and cemetery records Thanks

"RECONSTRUCTED MARRIAGE RECORDS OF Owsley County KENTUCKY. 1843-1910 PART 1, A THRU L.

Unfortunately, I don't have any Coles listed. The Garretts I have are all of a different name. I'm sorry I couldn't be of help.
I have not placed my Moore line in Pulaski County yet, but I'll let you know if I do.

Sandra. This is what I found in the marriage book:

1. COLE, WILLIAM FRANKLIN age 21 residing in Owsley. Born Clay. (Son of John Cole and Margaret Higgenbottom)
THOMAS, ELIZABETH, age 19, residing in Owsley, Born Clay. (Daughter of Joseph Thomas and Anna COUCH) Dec 24, 1857.

2. COLE, WILLIAM FRANKLIN age 29, 2nd marriage, born Clay. Widower of Elizabeth Thomas (1860).
GARRETT, MARY, age 18, born Virginia, possibly daughter of George W. Garrett and Sarah Thompson. 1865.

Hope this helps. Can't tell you much more, but it seems to be good infomation.

I looked through the index of the Owsley County Marriage Records and could not find anything on Coreen S. Bailey.
This isn't written in stone, since these are "RECONSTRUCTED" records. She may have been married in Owsley County but not reported to the Courthouse.
