Leslie SEXTON, age 89 of HAMILTON, OH passed away surrounded by his family on October 24, 2009. He was born in Fariston, KY on June 28, 1920, the son of Wade and Hannah (Hall) SEXTON. Leslie was a veteran of World War II with The United States Navy from 1944-1945; was employed as a trouble shooter for the Gas and Water Department of the City of HAMILTON for 20 years retiring in 1985; and was a member of the Victory Pentecostal Tabernacle Church. On September 2, 1949 in HAMILTON he was married to Catherine Morgan and she preceded him in death in 1980; on April 10, 1981 in HAMILTON he was married to Violet Marie Powell. He is survived by his wife Violet Marie SEXTON of HAMILTON, OH, one daughter Susan (Alvin) Wagers of Fairfield, OH, one step-son Clint Helton of HAMILTON, four step-daughters Donna (Robert) Mainous of HAMILTON, Linda Garrett of Fairfield, Bonnie (Tony) Webb of Camden, OH and Shelia (Tim) King of HAMILTON, and also 10 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his son Leslie H. Sexton in 2008, by a daughter Gloria Jean SEXTON in 1948, a step-son Sgt. First Class David E. Carter with The United States Army Rangers in The Vietnam War in 1969, by six brothers Floyd, Luther, Roscoe, George, David, and Frank SEXTON, and by five sisters, Viola Holden, Sarrah Carey, Nellia Allen, Virginia Allen, and Lillia Lisenbee. Funeral Services will be held at the Victory Pentecostal Tabernacle Church, 7640 Morris Road on October 28, 2009 at 1PM with Rev. Donald Pierce Pastor, Rev. Randy Coffey, and Jerry Walls officiating. Burial will be held in Greenwood Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the Brown Dawson Funeral Home 1350 Millville Ave. on October 27, 2009 from 5:00PM to 8:00PM. In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials to the Victory Pentecostal Tabernacle Building Fund. www.browndawson.com
