Identifying a Burnham family in 1860 census for Dunkirk NY

I have found a Burnham family in the 1860 census for Dunkirk that I cannot identify so I thought I'd throw it out to the board. The census lists:

E Burnham 43 F Ohio
Jane Burnham 17 F NY
Delia Burnham 14 F NY
Clara Burnham 10 F NY

Since it is the 1860 census, there is little information. I cannot match this family to any of the Burnhams I know in that area in that timeframe.

Ideas?

Mary P Evans,

I am looking for a Mary P. Evans, born about 1861, she was 9 yrs. on the 1870 census and on the 1875 census she was 14. The daughter of James Henry Evans and Elizabeth Jane Russell. That info can be found in 1870 Cherokee Neosho Twp, Ks 86/94 lines 13-18,1875 census of Cherokee Neosho Twp, ks (Salt creek, Howard Ks.) Now my family info says that they moved to Chautaugua county, near Independence, sometime after that and before 1884. They left Ks in 1884. Moving back to Ky Perryville area. It would be possible that she married, or died in that time frame. The family has written absolutely nothing about her, so I am sure they didn't know she existed, and no one has ever talked about her. I only found her on the census reports that is all I know about her.
I am trying to find any information on Louella Norton who was from or at least lived in Boulanger or Elgin, Kansas in 1962. Louella attended school at Herd School in Herd, Oklahoma and was in the 4th grade when I knew her. I was in the 1st grade. Her grandmother, Mrs. Boulanger, taught music at the school. Louella's teacher was Mrs. Winifred Labadie. I have always remembered Louella because I owe her a very big apology for something that happened that year, the only year she attended Herd. I have wanted to say I'm sorry all of these years. If anyone knows anything about Louella or her whereabouts now, please leave a message here or contact me via my email address, phlpchndlr@aol.com.

I'm looking for any info regarding Sebourn Reed (father, b: approx. 1819), Craven Shelburn Reed (son, b: approx. 1850). Sebourn was married to Sarah Bolden in Missouri (Grundy County) and then appears to have moved to Little Caney, KS. He seems to have had 3 children prior to 1851, when he married Louisa Rich (Stepp). She died in 1861 and he remarried Sarah after Louisa's death. Sarah and Sebourn had several children, among them: Blackburn Reed. I'm having difficulty making sense of all these people.
I'd also like to figure out how a man by the name of Bate Ogle Reed figures into this part of the family. He turns up as a boarder on a census listing for my gr-gr-grandparents Alonzo Kilmer and Magga (MacLauchlan) Kilmer. I think there is a relation somehow but, once again, I'm not having much luck putting all the threads together.
Any help I can get would be greatly appreciated!
Don,
Today I received a copy of the affidavit executed
by William Johnson on March 22, 1913 as to the heirs
of O.B. Harbert. The Register of Deeds office passed
my request on to the Chautauqua Co. Historical and
Genealogical Society. Cheryl Hurst, research secy.,
was very kind to copy and mail it to me. I'm sure
the $1.00 and SASE were not sufficient. I am truly
grateful and thank her very much.
The affidavit was executed in 1913, but was not
filed for record until October 6, 1920 ?????
Therein Johnson says that he "was well acquainted
with O.B. Harbert and his family" and "that the said
O.B. Harbert died intestate in Chautauqua County.."
and "at the time of his death was the owner of lots
......in the City of Sedan, Kansas.." It names his
wife Mary and some of the children.
The genealogical society has a website and a search
for "Herbert" revealed that O.B. Herbert (sic) was
a resident there in 1881.
Obadiah Harbert and family are in the 1880 census
for Chautauqua County. It is believed that this
Obadiah Harbert is the son of Thomas Harbert who
died in Daviess Co., Ky. in 1843. I have more info.
Most of the information I have was given to me by
Maureen Harbourt( La) and Thomas Harbert (Ill) and
I thank them very much.
Thank you, Don, for your help.
Maybe this will be helpful to someone else.
Lynn R. Miller (Ky)
PS The affidavit is recorded Book S, pg 634
Lynn, the list is an index prepared by the staff in the Register of Deeds office. When they find something in the records that would be of interest they note it and place a line item in the index.

I doubt anyone knows the date associated with any item, that is until they go to the record. However, the index covers material from the date the county was founded, 1875.

If you send a SASE and perhaps a dollar to cover copy cost they will send you what information is contained therein.

The address for the office of Register of Deeds can be found on the web site at address
http://www.ksgennet.org/ks/cq/index.html

Don Tharp
