I am looking for information on the following families:
All of these families are from the Chelsea, Iowa area.
Joseph Holan, Sichra, Sodomka or Sodomek.

I don't know if any of the Sodomka's of my family were in Iowa- but my grandfather grew up in Clarkson Ne. and we don't know much about his family. His father (my great grandfather) was Norman John Sodomka. He and my great grandmother immigrated here from Czechoslovakia

i just uncovered that Frank Sodomka (father of Clara Holan- Sodomka) was my great grandfather John Sodomka's uncle. He stayed with him in Adams, Ne. with Franks sister Mary for awhile after coming over from Bohemia and leaving Baltimore with his aunt Mary- if you have any more info on the family I would love to have it!

I need to correct my last post- after some research I have found that John Sodomka came here in 1907 at the age of 15- he stayed with his aunt Mary Drdla in Maryland- from there they went to Clarkson, Ne. where they stayed with his uncle Frank Sodomka. From there he married Ella Dloughy and stayed in Clarkson until his death in 1965. Sorry about the mis-information earlier.

Diane, I had a Irene Holan from Chelsea, later Belle Plaine as a Aunt. Also Albert and Cecia Stebler Schrader were my great Grandparents. Their daughter Ida Schrader Heinen was my Dad's mom and I grew up in Poweshiek County near Guernsey. I probably have info on our family.
