Hedrick Iowa Centinnial book

I have come across a book published in 1982 by Hedrick Centennial Book Committee, and am wondering if there is any interest in it. I am in the process of researching my genealogy and would love to have a book such as this relating to my ancestors.

Anyone heard of the book?

I recall seeing the book at the Hedrick Library when I was there about 8 years ago. They did not have any for sale at that time as I was interested in purchasing one. I did have copies of some pages made that were of interest to me. Hope this helps.

Hi Nancy,

I now have the Hedrick Iowa Centennial Book. It is not indexed so you pretty much have to just read it through to find your relatives. I have found my Dad and my Uncle several times when they bought or sold a garage. What years were your folks there and what did they do for a living? I glanced through the families that had put a Family page in the back of the book, but didn't find them there. Contact me off line and I will see if I can help you find something. I will Email you also...................Bob

What is your interest in the Curtis name? My Curtis family was a part of Hedrick from back is the late 1800rds till My Great Grandmother died in 1938. My Grandmother Curtis remarried after my Grandfather died and became a Morgan. My Dad, Earl Wood Curtis moved west in the early 1920s. He is mentioned a couple times in The Hedrick Iowa Centennial Book.
Are you related to the Curtis Line? Do you have any specific questions? I would be glad to help in any way.........Bob

If this is Hedrick in Keokuk County, it might include info re my family. Does it mention any of the following surnames; Warnock, Hollingsworth, White, Draegert or Molyneux? They were mostly from the area around Keswick & What Cheer.

Hi Campbellfh,
Yes it is Hedrick in Keokuk County
The big problem with the Centennial is that it is not indexed . Not even a table of condense. You pretty much have to just read it from cover to cover to find anything. I found some Campbell families and a Thomas Mullenix family but no Molyneux or any of the others. It is not just Hedrick but covers some of the surrounding area also. Were any of your folks in any particular business? My Dad had an automobile garage in Hedrick and that is how I found mention of him. Sorry I couldn't be more help..............Bob

Surnames: CURTIS/ECKLEY
Hi,

I am looking for an unknown CURTIS (last name) who married Clara Eckley. Clara died in Hedrick, Keokuk County, IA in 1969. I was wondering if they were part of your CURTIS family?
