Surnames: Pyle, James
I am trying to locate additional information on the family of Nova George Pyle, b. 22 Feb 1885, d. unkn, and his wife, Lydia Amanda James, b. 28 Mar 1888, d. unkn. They had at least two children live to adulthood; Mary Catherine Pyle who married James W. Walter(s), and Betty Jane Pyle.

Nova and Amanda Pyle are last known to be in Clinton, Vermillion County, IN, in 1942 when he filed his World War II registration.

Any assistance will be appreciated.

Thanks,

If we were all to go to private emails then the board would disappear. Therefore, I prefer to keep it here.

John,

Nova George Pyle is the way Mary's father filed his World War I draft registration and shows his birth date as 22 Feb 1885 born in Monroe, Hart County, KY. I think his parents would be William and Carrie Pyle.

Mary's mother is Lydia Amanda James of my primary research into the Hester family. Lydia was the daughter of Benton E. James and Laura A. Nicholas of the Montgomery and Putnam County, IN, area. They married on 23 August 1905 in Montgomery County, IN.

According to an old Hester Family History published in 1931, James W. Walter(s) and Mary Catherine Pyle married on 29 September 1927. Mildred was their first born in 1928 and your files are correct that they were in St. Louis in 1930. Found Wesley's death certificate in St. Louis but did not know about Donald.

If you wish more details, contact me directly. While the boards are great for making contact, they are not well suited for sharing large amounts of detail.

John,

Forgot to mention that Mary C. Pyle was an adopted child. Nova and Lydia had a daughter after their marriage that died and then they adopted Mary who was actually born before they married but was their only child until a younger child was born 20 years later.

I think I see your connection to this family. James' parents were Richard A. Walter and Mary C. Hollingsworth.
