ROSEDALE -- Max B. Wheat, 84, of
Rosedale, died at 1 p.m. Tuesday, July 27, 2004, in Union Hospital. He was employed with Martin Marrietta and General Houseware. He was born on July 26, 1920, in
Rosedale to
Blaine Wheat and Minnie
Bennett Wheat. Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Mildred Walter Wheat; four sons, James
Wheat, Walter
Wheat and wife Arlene, Charles
Wheat, and David
Wheat and wife Toni; two daughters, Maxine
Jeglum and husband Bob and Nancy
Bland and husband Darrell; one brother, Glen Wheat; 11 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents. He had served in the U.S. Army Air
Corps during World War II, and was a member of
Rio Grande Baptist Church. Services are 11 a.m. Friday in Mattox-Wood Funeral Home, with the Rev. Rob
Sturdivant officiating. Burial is in Roselawn Memorial
Park. Visitation is 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday in the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to
