Sarah Clark ( nee Jones ) born 1804 NC. No record of her death in Franklin Co. IL where she had lived for some years. Death supposed to be 1859, but alive in Franklin Co. IL on 1860 census. She had Jones relatives in Davies Co. and Posey Co. Probably other countys nearby as well. My dad says his ggrandmother went to Palmyra then she died.

I found this in the death records for Daviess Co., IN. I don't think it is her because if she was 70 yrs. old in 1905...she definitely would not have been born abt. 1804.

This was all I found for a Sarah Clark. These records started in 1882 though. If she died before that, there may not be any records. Was she buried in IL or IN? You may want to check that possibility out.

Thank you. Someone looked for me in IL where she lived. In a death index, I just assumed every county had such a thing. I'm fairly new to genealogy. Her parents were buried in the Cynthiana area, she could be there.

I noticed your reference to a Clark in Franklin Co. Illinois. I am trying to pin down a James Jefferson Clark who married Mary Ann Lashot in Franklin Co. Illinois in the late 1880s. Any leads would be helpful. Mary Ann was my gg maternal grandmother.

Hi: I am looking for information on a Mary Ann Layshot. What I have is a Dora Pierson born 3/12/1885 born IL. Listed on Social Sec. card applaction list Father Lewis Pierson; Mother Mary Ann Layshot. Listed is Franklin Co. Ill. Not sure if Fathers birth place or Dora's birth place. (this is diffrent SS form than I have seen before.)

I can not find Lewis Pierson. The only Layshot is Mary Ann, daughter of Mabee and Rebecca. But there is a marriage to J. J. Clark in 1887.

If you have any information on Dora I can use it. I am working on the line of Dora's husband William Kay, not Pierson or Layshot (Lashot). Linda Mulkey
