looking for information about the doughertys of sangamon county. wife sarah (charles) dougherty left sangamon county for Kansas after John's death. Looking for a burial site for John Charles Dougherty or any info on this family. John might have had another wife in nearby Knox county. Looking for any help.

thanks for the heads up on the info. John Charles Dougherty was born in KY on 1 May 1780 and died in Sangamon County, IL on 27 Jan 1854. Much of the info i have on him has come from the research of distant cousins. I am trying to find out if he might have been the son of Capt. John Dougherty. Capt. John's son is listed as dying in Knox County, IL. Since we have no evidence of our Johns death/burial I have been trying to find out if he had 2 wives in nearby counties at the time of his death. I do know the one that is buried in Knox County became a mormon in 1833. Again, thanks for your help. Jeaneen Dougherty
