Hello, my name is Martin Eberhardt and i'm writing from Germany.

My Grandmother was born at August 31. 1894 in Springfield, Sangamon. Her Mother died when she was 1 year old.
Her father go back to germany and let she by her Gandparents. In age of 4 or 5 years she stayed in an orphanage for 10 years. After this time she lived in Shomokin/Pennsylvania bei her relations. In age of 19, she leaved USA by ship to Germany.

Where can I get informations in with orphanage she was?

In advice of an answer

Shamokin is in Northumberland County, Pennsylvania. You probably should post your query to that message board.

Thank you, I know this. But my Grandmother was born in Springfield, Sangamon. Her Family lived there when her Father go back to Gemany.
In age of 13 or 14, the city council or the local government from Springfield/Sangamon found her relations in Shamokin/Pennsylvania and told them, it isn't ok that an kinswoman must stayed in an orphanage.
My question:
Adresses from orphanages around Springfield/Sangamon who opened at time 1895 til 1910. Or where the documents archived?
Please excuse my broken English and my bad gramar, but I rarely use it and my schooldays are a long time ago.
