Hi...my name is Shirley Ann (Baldree) Weber.
I live in PA (my family roots are in Georgia).
My e-mail is puppermom46@msn.com
My address is 1202 S. Market Street
Mechanicsburg, PA 17055-4727
I started searching for my family roots, as a member of Ancestry. com and am listed under Baldree Family Tree.
My father is James Clifford Baldree 1917-1972 died in Adel, GA.
Grandfather, Charlie Ranson Baldree
07 Mar 1891 - 06 Feb 1956
buried in Pine Grove Cemetery - Berrien County, GA.
He was married to Mary Alice King 26 Feb 1896 - 24 Nov 1934
GGfather, Irwin W. Baldree 1851-1919
GGGfather, Isacc Kethren Baldree 1833-1899
GGGGfather, Isacc K. Baldree 1758 - 1830
I've done fairly well, but have run into roadblocks.
My Grandfather above, was shown in the 1900 USFed Census as Charley Baldree, age 9, and a son of Irwin & Nancy Baldree.
Then shown in 1910 USFed Census as
Charlie Baldree, age 19, there it states "adopted son" of Irwin & Nancy Baldree.
His WW1 Draft Regist. Card shows his full name as
Charlie Ranson Baldree.
I am sooo perplexed!!!!!!
Does this mean Grandfather was adopted and not really a Baldree?
Why wouldn't they have mentioned it in the 1900 Census?
Also, if he really were adopted, I HAVE NO IDEA HOW TO FIND HIS REAL PARENTS.
And that makes me sooo sad!
Part of me says, GGfather Irwin raised him from a child thru adulthood, making him as much a Baldree as his "siblings".
I know for those in genealogy, that may seem wrong, but that is how I feel.
Also, since I am a novice at genealogy...I didn't know if I should keep my (Baldree Family Tree) public, since it is a work in progress?
I do know other peoples trees have been helpful to me.
Unfortunately, I see where some errors keep being repeated.
And I feel, by mine being public...perhaps I add to that.
Another thing I've done is use Jr & Sr in my tree, basicly to help me keep all the people with the same name, like Isacc, separate.
Your (Honest) thoughts please, about my littany of questions and concerns.
IF ANYONE HAS INFORMATION ON MY GRANDFATHER CHARLIE Ranson Baldree or HIS WIFE MARY ALICE KING...please let me know.
I hope to hear from you and thanks for listening.
Shirley Ann (Baldree) Weber
