I am searching for the family of Eli and his wife Margarett Hardy who 1st appear in Jackson county in the 1900 census. They are both buried in the Grant cemetery in Marianna,Fl. Eli had 7 sons; Alexander, Giles, Peter, Levi, William, Eli and Henry. Peter, or Simon Peter was my ggranfather. I know that Eli and Margarett were in Ala in the 1880 census. But was it simply a boundary change or did they move into Fl. Census states they were born in South Carolina but I have been unable to find any evidence of this fact. Would appreciate any help anyone can give me on my family.
