Were Cader Stephens and Lavina Ham of Lowndes and Brooks Co., Ga., the parents of Lavina M. Stephens b-1844 in Ga.? She married William H. Dykes in Jackson Co. Fl., in 1865 and was in Berrien Co. Ga. in1880-1900. She widowed between 1877 and 1880 when her last child was born. Her children were Wm. Henry b-1870 Fl., died in Brooks Co. in 1925, having mrd. Eula Tyler, Charles C. b1875 Fl. Mary b-1867 Fl., Eliz. b-1866 Fl., Anne b-1876 and Alice b-1877. Having seen your mention of the Stephens in Hamilton Co. , Fl. I feel certain there is a connection to my Grt Grt Grandmother Lavina M. Stephens Dykes. As, I have for years questioned her connection to Cader and Lavina Stephens and the Hamilton, Fl. Stephens. Please contact me direct @ jt33584@yahoo.com.

Perry Hall's obituary was also on that page, and I thought it might be helpful to a future researcher if I put it on the internet page.

It does seem to match the person you are looking for. You might want to check the Hamilton County censuses.

I did not find him listed in "Cemeteries of Hamilton County, Florida by W. S. Hodges. Since you have the name, date and location you might be able to get a death certificate.

Mickey Lee

Hi Grace. George Washington Peterson and Elizabeth (Betsy) Ann Yeates married in 1850 in Clinch County, GA, then moved to Hamilton County, Fl, by 1860. Their children were James, John and Mary. Uncle Wash joined the CSA, went to Virginia and served honorably. Something happened when he came home in 1865 and moved to Volusia County, Fl, close to Barberville, Fl, by 1870 alone (Elizabeth stayed in Hamilton County). His older son by Elizabeth came to Volusia County by 1880 and lived close to Uncle Wash. Uncle Wash married Jane Hall in 1877 and had children Robert, Agnes and Duncan. Uncle Wash died in 1906 and is buried with Jane, Robert, and Agnes in Purdom cem. Barberville, Fl. Elizabeth is supposedly buried along with the other Yeates in Pinellas County, Fl, I believe. I haven't confirmed her marriage to James R. Sauls or where she is buried.

His death records has unknown on everything.1920 census shows him and inmate of the city infirmary. 1910 census shows he was in the Union Army and a widower living on East Mulberry in Cinn. 1880 census has Frank and his wife Julie my ancestor living on East Mulburry st Cininnati Ohio no children He a cigar maker. Any information will help. They were both born in France 1830's the 1910 census shows Frank born in Germany but I believe that to be a mistake. The 1920 census has it in France. He was named after Tillman Cato the husband of Candacy Register (sister to Zilpha). I have a picture of "Uncle Tilly, Hansford Leigh and their mother Zilpha Register Leigh. I know of only two marriages for Tillman Leigh (1st Lillie Lightsey (2nd) Cordie Johnson. I hope you find this information helpful. If I can answer any additional questions, please let me know. I have been working on our family for a number of years and have additional information. Also, my mother, whose health is failing, but mental remains alert might be of additional help. Good luck. It was listed because it contained information that may be helpful to anyone looking for family in Florida.

I would appreciate assistance in making sure the listing is accurate and complete and especially if more information exists online that I am unaware of.

Please send me corrections and additions to T42@MyCemeteries.com or just reply here.
(Allen Wheatley)

Missouri Wheeler was also my husband's greatgrandmother. Missouri was born in 1864 and died in 1927. Her father was Charles McCollister Wheeler b. 8/25/1839 in Appling County, Georgia. Her mother was Eliza Holton b. in 1838 in Appling County, Georgia. Missouri, her mother and father are buried in the Hopewell Church Cemetery in Columbia County, Florida. Missouri never married but had three children, Charles Wheeler b. 1885, Eliza Wheeler Christie b 6/7/1887, Willie Wheeler b 4/3/1891 d. 4/28/1892, and Caulie Wheeler, my husbands grandfather, b. 1/1/1892 d. 7/21/1963.

We would love to know about descendants of Missouri's other two children, Eliza Christie, and Charles Wheeler.
I'm sorry it took me so long to answer you. I feel hornored that you are researching my ancester's service record.
In his Pension Application # A08523, states that Captain Hull's Company, Georgia Infantry, C.S.A. In another place in his application it is hand writen in Home Guard Of Nassau Co., Fl. As you probaly know the Florida Pension Applications are on the Internet. Since I don't have a scanner yet I can't send you copies my copies of his Pension Application there seems to be some confusion about his Unit, but he did get a pension. I have found The Museum of Southern History very hepful in finding information on the solders and their Unites, they are run by the Sons of Confederate Veterans 904-388-3574 they are here in Jacksonville. I sent to the National Archives for G.W.B. Muster Roll Cards and was told that they had been lost.

George Washington Batten had four brothers that fought for the Confederacy I have all of their Muster Roll Cards if you are instrested. I decended from George Washington Batten's brother Robert Neal Batten(my Greatgrandfather).
Since you have been to G.W.B's grave is there a Confederate Head Stone. If not I would like to try to get him one.
If you will send me your E-Mail address there is some other
information, about him and his family that I will send you. This will not let me attach them.
I am very proud of my Confederate ancesters, and enjoy shairing information about them.
Claudia Brosky Wright
