Hi,
I was wondering if you have a Nelson button, location of birth is I thing Colchester, born about 1825. He worked in Portland ct,and at some point in the 1860"s he lived in East Haddam. His wife was Marion Pierce. He also served in the Civil war.He and his wife had 8 children, one who was my gg grandfather Thomas Franklin Button, born 1867,in East Haddam, and died 1910,in New Haven ct.

I have been trying for years to locate Nelson's parents, and possibly his wife's parents, when they both died also.Possibly were they are buried would be helpful to.

Thank you in advance,
Tuesday Porter

Surnames: Hayes, Mulligan, Dowling/Dooling/Dugan, Riley or O'Reilly, Monahan, Raymo, Theriault, Goodreau, Mullavey, Burns, McGee, Travers/Trainor, McShead, McNames
I guess I can only say how great you are to share your kindness. I have been searching for info on my gr grandfather's wife Mary Dooling/Dowling/Dulan/ O'Dowd. Micheal Hayes, father of Barnard, Wm., Micheal, Helen, May and James born 1870 Oct in Ireland (believe Cork) married her March 1894. He emigrated here 1888 and died prior to 1920. He was a saloon keeper that was off Main. Mary was born Nov 1863 or 73, most likely Ireland. Died in Waterbury in 9/30/1952. She emigrated here in 1885 according to a census from Ireland.

Another branch- Mulligan was my paternal grandmother's. Marg. Mary 5/6/1903, married James Hayes, I suspect around 1893, no document as of yet. Her father John born 1858/57 around Thomaston, was the son of Thomas Mulligan who appears in census after 1850 in CT again no proof. Thomas wife was Kate??? 1825 and I came from Ireland during Great Famine together around 1853 and was a wool spinner. John married Anna Riley or O'Reilly born bef 1870 in Mass and died before 1930 for I find no trace of her in census. She had sons Luke James, George. John Mulligan died 3/11/1890. For some reason the name Henry appears alot in census and feel that Henry, James, George were oft used first names in Mulligans. They were Roman Catholics from "Free Ireland". All claim to be Waterburians. Some worked fire and police departments and George Mulligan did well rising up through HUD.
On Micheal Hayes, a first cousin was offered college scholarship in NY for basketball and became a pro player. They raised dogs, a bridge in Waterbury is named for one of my surnamed descendant though unsure which one. One relative got involved in local and state politics and another had a soda company like Canada Dry. One inspired to be a actor though from what shows in census many worked factories like Brass and Scovill's. Any info to get dates, info whatever, I have the research bug now for well over 30 years. Pictures and where to find another, as well as newspaper reports and certificates. Any help and advice welcomed. If need more info I will eagerly and gratefully reply.
It is great what you are offering. I have books on South Georgia that I would gladly look up. Missing one volume. Thankyou in advance for any help. Most Respectfully, .

Would you please look in your Milford book for Margaret Diantha Hotchkiss b 16 Jun 1830, daughter of Harvey Hotchkiss and Sarah Alling. Records show her born in Bethany but the Bethany Town Clerk informs me that they were incorporated in 1832, and all records prior to that time were either in Milford or Beacon Falls.

Thank you for any help you may offer.

I have just discovered that Margaret Dianthe Hotchkiss could possibly have been born in Oxford. Could you please look for her there also. (16 Jun 1830)

Thank you so much for your very generous offer. You are providing a very valuable service and it is greatly appreciated.

Could you please look for Content Woodruff. She was born 1762. Some say in Derby but all her siblings and father were born in Milford or Oxford. She was the daughter of David Woodruff and Esther Clark who married in Oxford 1760.
If she is not in the Milford, I see that the Derby and Oxford do not have records for this early. Would you have any advise as to where else I may look for a record?

Hoping to find her!
Ida
