Hi, Shirley -- I'm afraid I'm not going to be of much help to you. The KENNEDY I refer to in my family line is through my g-g-grandfather, Patrick Kennedy, who was born in Worcester MA abt. 1843 to John and Hannah Kennedy (both born "someplace" in Ireland). Patrick Kennedy married Ellen Burke (b. in Ireland) in 1871 and settled in Bridgeport CT about 1876. Patrick died in Bridgeport about 1895. I don't know anything about the McCauley line except that Mildred MCCAULEY married my grandmother Eleanor WALSH O'BRIEN's brother, Edward WALSH. KELLY I don't know anything about, except it appears that a KELLY sister and brother married the son and daughter of Michael O'BRIEN, my great-grandfather's brother. Ethel Kelly married Edward O'BRIEN (b. 1914) and ? KELLY married Frances O'BRIEN. I'm sorry that's all I know.

Since he is noted on the Danbury, Fairfield Co., CT monument - he was obviously from Danbury and as you already know - there are a few Troccola families. If you haven't already, you should try and call the clerk's office to find out if there is a birth certificate for him in Danbury. If they give you a hard time, let them know he died/MIA in the war in 1950 and his name is on the monument. Let them know that you are only interested in who his parents were for your family genealogy. Here is the #203-797-4531

Donald,

We have William Francis Sturges we believe is the son of George W and Mary Burke born 1908 in Norwalk, Fairfield, CT.

We are having a problem with the name William Legrand. It shows as the father of William Francis, but the dates are just not adding up. (And honestly, we have located NOTHING besides a death notice mentioning his fathers name as Legrand) However, for George to be the father of William Francis they do.

What we have:

George William
B. 22 May 1883 CT
D.

My maternal grandparents owned a home in Newtown from 1967-1983 (approx). I grew up in that house, I remember the house and surrounding area vividly. I know the address. When my grandmother sold it, she said a real estate agency was making it their offices. I've looked online and see where the house is/should be, and though it looks different in many ways, it has to be the house. I was wondering if someone in the area could tell me if the house is currently occupied, and if there is anywhere I may be able to find pictures old or new. Growing up we were told that the house and the house across the street were around in the 1800s, with one being the saloon/livery stable and the other an inn. Is there anywhere I can find the true history of the house?
I would really just love to see it again.

Is anyone out there familiar with where the records of the German Reformed Church in Bridgeport would have ended up when that church disappeared? Also, what might be the most likely cemetery a member of that church might have been buried in during the 1895-1900 period? The next generation up is buried in Park Cemetery but I don't find my great-great grandfather there. (Researching Peter Hohn (also spelled Hein, Hahn, Hine, Hoehn).
I am the 2nd oldest of John Angel's 6 grandchildren. His 2 sons have died. He died at age 79 on Oct 16, 1960. I went to his funeral and knew he was buried in Zoar cemetary but the headstone was carved per his instructions and was done after the funeral. Around 1969 or 70 my husband and I took a ride from NJ to see his studio and look for the cemetery. By chance we stopped in a little general store where we talked to a nice old man who said he was the keeper of the cemetary and took us to the gravesite. I was so glad to have found it. I have seen a lot of his sculptures and watched him work over the years. I hope to visit the area again on a extension of a trip to NJ and perhaps see the old mill and visit the cemetary. I have no idea where he is in the cemetery but I remember that there were wings sculpted on the headsone.

Dear Alma: I don't recognize any of the names in your note, but I'm just getting started with the "Sorqvist'' name. I've been mistakenly trying to trace it for years as "Sarquist'', which is the American spelling used by my wife's ancestors since their arrival in the U.S. around 1890. I'm looking for an Edward Henry Sorqvist (1858-1945), born in Jonkoping and emigrated around 1890. Wife was Augusta Morelius Hermanson. Both died in Chicago. Do you have any suggestions? thanks, Jack Wardlaw.

Hi --

Any information you could provide, would be greatly appreciated. The Warburtons have proved to be my most elusive family members. As I mentioned in my original post, my great-grandmother was Margaret Warburton O'Brien, the sister of John Warburton, Jr. Margaret and John were the children of John Warburton, Sr. and Julia Miller. I am not sure who John Warburton Sr.'s parents are. His mother may have been named "Sarah." I found John Sr. and his brother Richard living in Esopus, NY in the 1860(?) census. Julia Miller Warburton was the daughter of Benjamin and Maria Miller. They were living in Kingston, NY in 1860. I know that the Warburtons ended up in Brookfield and then Danbury CT and that John Jr. and Margaret had siblings named Annabelle, Frances, and Malissa. This is all I know. If you have anything to add, I would love to hear from you. My e-mail address is:

jamie.a.obrien@verizon.net

Thanks for your help.

Jamie A. O'Brien
