Looking for the parents of Joshua (his siblings William and John) of the Ridgebury/Danbury area. Joshua was killed in the British Raid on Danbury in the burning of Capt. Starr's house, d. April 26, 1777.

He married, Betty ___?___, she is buried in the North Street Cemetery, Danbury, CT (b. ca 1732 - d. 23 Feb 1818). Would also like to find Betty's maiden name and birthplace/parentage.

Joshua and his brothers (siblings = William, John and perhaps others who are unknown to me) seem to appear from nowhere in the Danbury area (late 1750's first records). Perhaps they came from the coastal area of CT to the south? Need to find a clue as to their birthplace and parentage. Detailed accounts on John and William are also missing from my records.

Perhaps you are related to one of Joshua's brothers, if so please contact, maybe we can break the barrier together.

Hi. I am wondering if you found any further information regarding Joshua Porter's parents, as I am related to him through his son John, who had among 12 children, a son named Miner (Minor) who had a daughter Margaret, who married William White and had among their children a daughter Josephine, who married Edward Phillips, and had my great grandmother Alma Belle Phillips. So any further information you might have would be helpful. Also, I have fairly good info from Joshua forward if you are interested.
Thanks so much.

Surnames: Porter, Joyce, Peck
Hi, I'm looking for the parents of Lyman Porter, b. Nov. 1805 in Easton or Weston. He m. abt. 1830 Mary Joyce. I believe that he had a brother Nelson and possibly George. Lyman, d. in Bethel in 1882. I have been researching this for a long time and have found that the information in Cutter's Connecticut Families and the Biographical Skethes of Fairfield County are both incorrect in stating that he was the son of Noah and Nabby Porter. That Lyman went to IL. In analyzing the 1810 and 1820 Cesus's it appears that his father may have been John Porter of Weston who possibly removed eventually to New Fairfield. That is where Nelson was.
I am also looking for the parents of Sarah Porter, b. bet. 1718 and 1723 and married Ephraim Peck of Newtown.
Have you seen any of these names in your research of the Porters.

Julie,
I know that it's been quite sometime since you posted the information on this board, but I was wondering if you have the names of the children of John?
