The Calif death index you mentioned has his soc sec number and you can go to the soc sec internet site and order a copy of his application for a ssnumber. It will tell you how to do it on the site. I have them for most of my family and really enjoy them as family documents.

I need help in finding burial information regarding the Harvey Stagg Family - Harvey was born in 1842 in Indiana - his wife was Ida Jewell Stagg born 1867/69 in Mo/Il . At one time they lived in Iowa and then Delta Colorado where their two sons were born: Lucian Earl Stagg b. 24 Dec. 1908 and Raymond W. Stagg born in 1908. I would like to find where Ida and her husband harvey and their two sons are buried. Anything at all about this family would be a great help to me. I would very much like to find some living relatives of this family. I have some pictures to share with them.

I believe "Harry Brooks Foutty" was my great uncle. My grandfather Alva Dane Foutty had a brother who lived in California named "Brooks". I called him "Uncle Harry". He was married to Aunt Leona (not sure of the spelling). He later remarried. My father is Wayne Earl Foutty, son of Avla Dane.

My aunt "Dillie" b 1884 usually appears as Dorothy on Census and other semi-official documents, Thalia on more formal documents. She married Edward Hayes Monroe in 1906 at WA; they moved to Alberta and then to Alabama where he contracted a fever about 1912. Dillie and Ed moved to Upland CA hoping to improve his health, but he died at Pomona 03 Apr 1913. Dillie remained at Upland.

Dillie's parents and several siblings moved next door to her at Upland in summer 1914 -- by that time she was married to Bill Schertz, but they were divorced soon afterward (a few years?).

I know hardly anything about Bill (not even his "true" first name) except what I heard from family stories. My only written source for the surname spelling is the 1920 census at the home of her sister Carrie (Meissner) Zaich in Los Angeles. She is shown as "Dillie M Schertz" married - but there is no sign of Bill and she married a Zaich cousin soon afterward (May 1921).

Basically, Bill Schertz has "fallen through the cracks": his marriage to Dillie did not cross over any decennial census date; their records were too early to appear (so far) in the California Vital Records on line; they did not have any children (nor did Dillie with either of her other two husbands).

I am hoping to find a marriage record, perhaps early in 1914, at San Bernardino County or Los Angeles County, and a divorce record a few years later, for Dorothy Thalia Meissner Monroe Schertz.
