I am looking for descendents of Jeptha
Weeks and his family who came to San Bernandino County from
Alabama in 1856. Jeptha
Weeks traveled with twelve of his children and their families from
Mississippi by wagon train to Salt Lake City. He died with small pox outside Salt Lake and
Brigham Young would not let the party enter the city. They buried him there and traveled on to San Bernandino County. In 1916 his grandson, George West, went back to his burial place and brought the body back and buried him with other family members in the Pioneer Memorial Cemetery. Jeptha had nine daughters so I am looking for their descendents also. Their husbands names were Edward W. Ridley, James
Monroe West, David Lehi
Aldridge, William Terry, William
Jones Harris, Richard Allen, Ithamar
Judson, George
Eli Hubbell, and Benjamin
Matthews. His sons were Samuel C. Weeks (married mary E. Flanagen), James Solomon
Weeks (married Tama Lavina
Wells), and John
Carter Weeks (married Sarah Maria
Cram). I think all of them are buried in the Pioneer Memorial Cemetery. I would appreciate hearing from anyone connected to any of these.
