Louise, I'm not sure how much information I have. My Mother-In-Law's Dad's name was McClellan Washburn and he married Mary Jane Taylor. I show Mac's mother's name as Margaret and I show that Mac and Mary Jane had 13 children. I would love to share information with you if this is the right family.

Pat, this is great news! I have pretty good records up to Nelson's son, Steven McClelland Washburn (b 14 Apr 1868 in Lakeport, Lake, CA). But I only have Nelson in the 1870 and 1880 census. I've been looking for his birth town and parents for some time.

If you have a PAF file or gedcom file, I'd love to have a copy. Or just any information you may have about Nelson, his wife, and parents.

You can correspond direct at glwal29@gmail.com

Thanks so much!

Louise
Hi, I cannot help you with the record of death for Charles Danbrook I just thought I would take the opportunity to branch out on this website. I just started. My connection to Charles is: My great grandfather Harry Russel Danbrook was his brother. My mom has a photo of charles and his three brothers in her living room and I have vacation mometos from when my Great grandfather Harry travelled to visit Charles on the west coast of the US. I live in London Ontario about an hour away from where Charles was born. My family stayed in the area and I am going to go take photos of the cemetary where most of the Danbrook's are buried. My uncle lives right across the road just outside of Donegal, Ontario. my email is lhalpenny@gmail.com if you are interested.

Cheers,
Lori-Ann Halpenny
P.S My mother is a Danbrook and was extremely close to her granfather Harry. I recall stories of when he travelled to visit Chalie.

Andrew Jackson possibly Moore married to Rose

I have recently found that my great great grandmother was named Rose/Rosa last name unknown but appears to be Rose/Roso/Ross/Rosa. According to my great grandmother Birdie's death cert she was Rose Rose and the father was listed as Andrew Jackson. We are assuming his last name may have been Moore, or she was married more than once.
According to two death certificates, my grandmother and my great aunt.
1)Birdie born Dec 1, 1880.
According to the marriage license she was Birdie Moore and Married William Conn/Cahn September 21, 1898 and had a son Adrian Stewart Conn (Ace/Acie/Asy) born November 15, 1898. Ace later married Gladys Helen Worsham of Nebraska, they had a daughter Dorothy Ruth Conn who was born in 1926. Ace went on to marry Irene Lewis in 1968.
Birdie then married George Edward Allen (b Jan 9, 1880) on Dec 10, 1904 in Los Angeles County CA and they had 4 daughters. Juliette A. Allen June 16, 1905 who changed her name in adulthood to Ruth Juliette Allen who married John Garfield McLean. They had several children. Mildred Bernice Allen 1912 was the 2nd daughter who married a Purkey and had two sons. The 3rd daughter was Thelma Isabelle 1914 was the next daughter. She was institutionalized in 1929 and then later married a Purkey. The fourth daughter Georgia Lee Allen was born Oct 1917, she had a few marriages but only has one daughter Carole Lee Wood who married Moe Kennedy.
2) Charles Moore was born in 1882 and was living with Rosa Moore in the 1900 census (she can only be found on the census when you type in Basa or Bosh, but family has always called her Rosa Lee. When you look at the handwriting on the census you can definitely see it could be Rose/Rosa.
3) I have a great aunt named Lucy Amy who was born to Rose Moore on Feb 27, 1885 in Lake County, California. Her death cert indicates unknown for mother and unknown Moore for father.
Lucy Moore married George Amy on Dec 10, 1904 at the same time her sister Birdie married George Allen.
Lucy and George had 4 children (Wendell, Elwin, Kathleen and Patsy/Patricia E.) Wendell and Elwin were institutionalized in 1930 and ended up on the same census as "inmates" of the institution as Thelma Isabell Allen.
4) The fourth child listed on the 1900 census with Rosa was Jenny Moore.
They are all listed as Indian and family history has alwasy said Rose was possibly Modoc. Rose is listed as divorced and it also states she had a total of 9 children, 6 of which were living at that time.
We wonder if she were married before Mr. Moore, possibly to an Andrew Jackson and if so, who and who were the children. Or if she were with Moore the entire time, when and where did they get married and what tribe is she or are they from?
Any help would be greatly appreciated

The Jessie Beach listed is was born Jessie McLean in Pictou, Nova Scotia. Her sister is Kate Bray (there is an error on the census) and she was born Catherine McLean in Pictou, Nova Scotia.

Jessie's Husband was Abraham Beach, but they were divorced early in the marriage.

Kate's husband was Alexander C Bray.

I have a lot more information on them if you like. They ran the Hotel in Lakeport with the stage stop for a while. I have photos of all of them too.

Melanie (McLean researcher in Lake County)
