Do you know anything the parents of John Saffron age 3 living with Joseph O'Neill and Mary Lemeilleur in the 1870 census. in the 1880 census John Saffroi is living with his cousin James O'Neill and Joseph O'Neill and a Frank Williams (cousin of the O'Neills) is living there also. John's sister Julia Saffron is apparently living with William Sanders along with William, Rubey, and Martha Goolsby. Julia later married Alfred Cogbill both of whom died when their son Oscar was young. Oscar passed on to his descendants that Julia was French and Indian. On John's side, we've heard the "French" part. Julia is said to have been born in Oklahoma and John in Fort Smith

No , I have no idea as to what the connection may be...I think we have correseponed before on this matter.. The Oneill part
is still a bit of a mystery for us. although we know Mary LeMeilleur did mary Mr. Oneill we are not sure which Oneill. There is a gal up in Reno that calims and I sayClaims! HER Oneill are connected but we who are LeMeilleur have no documented proof from her side that her Oneill belong to us..
There were two Oneill if my memory strikes me right... I believe she caught the wrong train.. she has not provided any real detail other than the marriage lic..... So buyer be ware !

Thanks -did not know of two since I had not been looking for O' Neills. No we had not talked before. I tried emailing you before but figured perhaps it was lost in cyberspace- happens occasionally. Did talk to someone descended from the O'neill line sometime back but she didn't seem to know either. Thanks again.

I am researching in this same area: in 1870-80 census, I find Elizzie and Dudley Taylor, but I cannot trace them anywhere after this...I believe I have the right Eliza Jane (Elizzie), though the children's names listed are not Fannie (1868) and Maranda/Merondia/Mirandy (1866).....can anyone assist with this? Thanks
