What would happen to two young girls age 7 and 9 if their parents had died in
Jackson county in the year 1902? Would they have gone to an orphanage? Are their any orphanage records for
Jackson county during that time? I am specifically looking for information on
Olivia Kay (age 9) and Lillie Kay (age 7) , orphaned in 1902. They had three brothers,
Hiram (age 11) Virgil (age 12) and Mabron (age 16). Mabron would be old enough to live on his own, but what about the others? All the boys show up in the 1910 Census records, but of course, the girls are nowhere to be found. I am also interested in any Kay burial listings for
Jackson county. Please contact me if you can help.
