I would appreciate a Census Look up on the 1870 Henry County Census. I need all the info shown for:

John PARRISH, age 22, M, W, Abbeville PO,

M953 Roll 19, Page 293

Any assistance in locating ancestors or descendants of this gentleman would also be appreciated.

Thanks,

Do you have any more information on John Parrish, such as a middle initial?

There is a John Newton Parrish in the household of Richardson Parris and his wife Katherine in Henry County in 1860 and in Dale County in 1850.

Joel,
Thank you for the lookup. I was hoping that this was John Newton Parrish, son of Richardson Parris/Parish/Parrish who was located in Dale County, 1850. I do not have access to the Henry County Census for 1860.

Apperently he was still living at home. Makes sense, since he was only about 12 in 1860.

And I overlooked him him in 1870. He is right next to Richardson on the Census.

If it is convinent, would you give the info on Richardson in 1860 Census in Henry County.

Many thanks,

Tom Watkins

I see I posted "Parris" in an earlier message, meant to post Parrish.

According to a "cousin", Richardson J. Parish was born 1807 in Kershaw Dist SC and married a Katherine Phillips in Aug 1826 in Jasper Co, Ga, and died in 1888 in Dale Co., Al. I have no proof of any of this. He also shows that Richardson is a brother to my Roger Parish who was b ca 1786 in Kershaw Dist SC. Both are suppose to be sons of Edward Parish, Jr. and grandsons of Edward Parish Sr. He does not have spouses for either of these Edwards. I have no documentation to prove any of this, so use it as a guide and look for sources for proof.

Good Luck

Joel,

Again, many thanks for the census info. Your other "cousin" may very well be correct. Let me offer another consideration.
Richardson Parrish being the son of Samuel Parrish who lived in Dale County in the 1840 & 1850 Census. No proof but they all seemed to be from Kershaw County, South Carolina, purchased & farmed near each other so I highly suspect they were at least all related. He is in the same age bracket as Samuel's other unproven children.
Josiah 1802
John 1806
Hamilton 1810
Hampton
Thomas 1812
Rebecca 1813
Emanuel Monroe 1814
Nelly 1815
James 1818
Samuel 1821
Ephraim 1826
Benjamin 1831

I suspect that your Roger was a Brother to Samuel. Since the court house records were destroyed, perhaps there are Bible Records which will define the relationships. If we can only locate them?

Again, I appreciate your help.

Hi,
I have a John Parrish b1845 in Stewart Co. GA. He married Sarah Elizabeth Summerford there 24 Dec 1867. The Summerfords came to Henry County, AL from the Kershaw District via Stewart County, GA. Perhaps there is some connection in your line.

Hi, Joel!

Just a few more tidbits:

Richardson J. Parish and Roger Parish also had another brother named Elias Parish, Sr. (my 5th Great Grandfather). He was born 1794 in Kershaw County, SC and died in 1841 in Henry County, AL.

I also have that they are the sons of Edward Parish, but do not have any other information.

I notice your last name and realized that I have several "Huttos" in my line as well! Would be happy to swap information with you!

Hi Shannon & Joel, I am a descendant of Roger Parrish born in Kershaw Dist. SC. Here is what I have on the siblings (still trying to prove all this):
Roger Parrish
William Parrish
Samuel Parrish
(4 more brothers)and (1 sister) Ama Ann Parrish
I have Richardson J. Parish, Sr born 1807 as the son of Samuel Parrish born may 26, 1769 and Elizabeth Ledbetter born 1785. This Samuel I have as Roger's brother. I got this from 2 "internet" cousins. I have not proven any of this myself. I thought I had found Roger's grandmother's name but now I think I am wrong. I thought it was Kitty Louise Money but I can't find dates that puts her in the correct time frame. Just thought I would let you know what I have in case you can prove or disprove any of it.
